Next 2nd Wednesday CuriosityLounge is an Equity East Midlands Branch event.

What’s next for comedy in Leicester?

Join Equity East Midlands for a special branch meeting and panel discussion with some of the people closest to the all-new Leicester Independent Comedy Festival.

With a focus on looking forwards, we’ll hear from those involved about what we can expect from the festival and the future of comedy in the city.

There will be an opportunity to put your questions to the panel and network with comedians, creatives and other members of our regional performance community.

Confirmed contributors include Alex Hylton; David Elphick, Vice-Chair of the Live Comedy Association; Tony Flint, Manager of De Montfort Hall and Lead for Leicester’s night-time and cultural economy; and Ian Manborde, Equity Organiser for the Midlands.

Equity branch meetings are also a chance to meet other people working across the entertainment industry, build your network and find out what your union is doing locally.

Not an Equity member? You’re welcome too. Come along, meet the community and find out what Equity can do for you.

The platform hosting my Blog that has been my home online since 2007 (Typepad) is closing at the end of the month. Digital is not permanent and its legacy will only be broken links. Remnants of the moments marked by my limited writing have been hastily archived thanks to Daniel Thornton and I suppose the Meta Algorithm for alerting me. The email notice had slipped between the cracks of my inbox.

So if you wanna go read it or skim the last nearly 20 yrs of my life online from workshopping Edinburgh for Equity in 2007 to taking a VR musical to Fringe in 2024 with Brendan Bradley you have until Sept 30th. Lots of platforms, performances, conferences and livestreams.

The blog of Caron Lyon - about current projects, reflections, key moments, favourite platforms, tools and technologies. Making stuff happen online.
