This is probably our FAVOURITE camping gadget… We love it so much we used it to cut our wedding cake! 😆🍰

A few years ago, I brought Stephen a multi-tool as a Christmas gift, and it has barely left his side since.
On our most recent trip to Scotland it saved the day once again, when we had to replace a part on the car. 🛠️🏕️

Something we often get asked is “How do you get out of the car when the caravan is hitched up?” 🤔

And the answer is this – portable ramps up to the side door! 👩🏻‍🦼

Our VW Transporter is fitted with an internal tail lift, so we can have a detachable towbar. But we always carry these nifty tri-fold ramps for when the lift isn’t usable.

It’s important to have alternative access when the caravan is hitched up, but equally useful for parallel parking! 🚙

1 week to go! 😁🇮🇹

We’ve been busy with some final preparations for our upcoming trip to Italy — And it’s going to be epic! 🏔️

Everything has been booked through the Caravan and Motorhome Club's foreign travel service, and we’ve got a printout of our itinerary ready to go.
We’ve also arranged Red Pennant travel insurance. This is something we use every time we go abroad, and found out just how invaluable it is when we broke down in France a few years ago 😬 (let’s not have a repeat of that 🙏🏻)

We’ve been looking forward to this trip for such a long time, and can’t believe it’s finally happening! 🥰

😍 In case you missed it: We recently shared a new article and video tour of an amazing wheelchair accessible motorhome we viewed earlier this year. It featured a wheelchair lift, slide-out section, hoist, wetroom and wheelchair restraint system, all ready for its owners to enjoy some relaxing holidays and amazing roadtrips. 😀🗺️🏕️

We just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone for all of your kind, thoughtful messages on our anniversary yesterday 🥰 We feel so loved and lucky to be part of such a wonderful community on here!

Because we’ve had so much on recently, we fancied keeping celebrations low-key… but not too low-key to wear MY ACTUAL WEDDING DRESS 🥹
I hated the idea of only ever wearing my dress once, so I’ve had it altered into something less bridal, so I can wear it again and again 💗
(Stephen also wore his special wedding socks 😆)

It was a perfect day, consisting of:
🌳 A walk at our favourite local spot
🍿 Cosying down for a movie night
📸 Looking through our wedding photos on the big screen
🍷 And enjoying wine and wedding cake that we’d saved from our special day

Here’s to many more happy years together! 🥂

Okay, story time ☺️📖… So, as you know, we collected our caravan from the workshop on Wednesday and are SO excited to have it back 👏. But let us fill you in on the big problem we’ve had with it over the past few years, and the positive resolve that happened this week… 🤔💔

There’s a reason why the saying ‘buy cheap, buy twice’ is so common - Because most of the time it’s true! When we originally bought our caravan, we didn’t have much budget left over to make it wheelchair accessible, so we ended up using a non-specialist company, local to us in Dorset, to fit a cheap wider door to enable Karla to enter the caravan in her wheelchair. After only 6 months, it started causing problems and fast forward 8 years, and it was literally falling apart 😳. We asked the team at Coachbuilt if they could help, and we are so happy that they’ve been able to fit a brand new, upgraded door. Not only does the new door look great, but it’s been fitted properly with the correct structural support, and they’ve even tidied up the inside woodwork and added some handy shelves. 😀🏕️

We’re so thrilled to have our caravan back, better than it’s ever been before, looking amazing and feeling great to use. It’s now all ready for our upcoming trip to Italy 🇮🇹. Our huge thanks go out to the amazing team at Coachbuilt for their hard work on this. ☺️❤️

Today we took a VERY exciting day-trip to Warwickshire and back, to collect our caravan from Coachbuilt, who have been doing some much-needed improvements to it 😁🚙

We are beyond chuffed with the results, and can’t wait to show you after we’ve taken some pictures (and had a good sleep 😴)

Preparations for our Italy trip are well underway with some new Michelin tyres fitted to the car today 🇮🇹! These CrossClimate tyres are the best we’ve ever driven on, but our old ones were starting to show signs of age. 🛞

Thanks to the wonderful team at JT Tyres for fitting them for us. ☺️

Also, a MASSIVE thanks to everyone who commented on our last post announcing our upcoming road trip... It was great to hear your recommendations, which have made us even more excited than we were before! 👏🏞️
