Accessible Project House update: Everything is a bit upside down here at the moment 😆.

After the log burner installation and removing wallpaper, it was time to replaster the walls in our lounge and skim over the artex on the ceiling… Ryan, our plasterer, has once again done a fantastic job, and we’re just waiting for it to dry so we can get started with the painting. 😀

We’ve chosen quite a bold feature colour for the wall surrounding the fireplace. Hopefully, it will look okay once painted 😬🤞. We also need to decide on the colour and style for the mantel beam, which will complete the look. 🔥

Date night for us at one of Bournemouth’s fanciest burger restaurants 😆🍔! Might go for a romantic stroll after, through the aisles of B&Q to pick up some paint. 😀💕

I know I don’t only speak for myself when I say that us people with disabilities are some of the most resourceful, creative, determined and hardworking to exist 🥰

When you live in a world that was built for “the norm”, in a body that is anything but — you have to be! ♿️

Whether it’s putting on makeup when your muscles resemble those of a mouse, maintaining a full-time job alongside managing your care needs, or travelling the world on 4 wheels, we’re always finding ways to adapt and overcome. To succeed in whatever we set our minds to 💪

I’m incredibly grateful for the equipment and support that enables me to thrive, but also for my determination to live a full life, in spite of all the challenges 💗

Living with a disability can be hard, but it’s rewarding too, and I wouldn’t change a thing (well, maybe a bit more free time and money would be nice 🤭)

Our latest video shares our story of some of the big problems we initially had when doing the original wheelchair conversion to our caravan… 🎥

Background: We had a really tight budget and could only afford to use a non-specialist workshop, but ended up spending more, thanks to poor quality workmanship and the resulting repairs. 😬

Please learn from our experience and only use the specialists who do this type of work on a daily basis. You’ll likely save thousands of pounds in the long run, and your experience will be so much better 💷. In hindsight, would we change what we did? Yes, for the sake of a few extra months saving up. But we’re still grateful to have gotten started and gone on some brilliant first adventures! 🏕️

Crisis averted — laundry retrieved! 😆🧦

Thank you so much to everyone for your helpful suggestions regarding our locked washing machine 💗

We tried everything, but it wasn’t letting up, so we had to resort to the crowbar 🙈

Living in 2025 means that we could order a new one online, which was delivered and installed the very next day 😁

Thankfully with our old one being on its last legs for a while, we had time to save up for a replacement, which we hope will last us long into the future — It’s also incredibly quiet, and comes with an app, which is very handy for accessibility 🥰

After 14 years of service, our very first washing machine—a house warming gift from my parents when we got our first place together—has given up on us.

It’s been on the blink for a while, so it’s definitely time for an upgrade… but we have a slight problem…

Our clothes are locked inside! 😬😅

Any tips for this hostage situation would be great — before Stephen brings out the crowbar 😂

Woo — it’s the weekend 🥳 And it’s a chilly one too! ❄️

Thanks to everyone who watched our latest video. We don’t normally like sharing negative experiences with you until there’s a positive outcome, so it felt great to finally be able to do this! 🎥

Sneaky preview 👀! We have a new video coming soon, which is all about some of the disasters we had when we originally wheelchair adapted our caravan on a budget, and a warning to anyone who might follow in our footsteps. We have never told this story publicly before, but after a major overhaul and a positive outcome earlier this year, now is the right time to share it with you. ☺️

We loved this little upcycling project! 😁

Needing to fill a space next to our new fireplace, we’ve been scouring the second-hand market for the perfect cabinet.

We found this bargain locally — The perfect size and in great condition, with only a few surface markings on the top ☺️

A bit of sanding and a coat of varnish later, and it’s as good as new!

Very satisfying job done 👍🏻💗
