This weekend we heard the devastating news that Martin Farrell has passed away.

We first met Martin around three years ago after casting him in one of our projects. One project led to another and again to yet another. It truly was a pleasure to work with him. On set, Martin was a dedicated and talented actor with great enthusiasm and energy. As we got to know him off camera, we discovered a funny, kind, caring man, eager to help and share his life’s experiences. Martin will be sorely missed.

We are thinking of his family and friends during this extremely sad time.

At the weekend we were reunited with Compassionate Inverclyde : Capturing moments that matter filming their remembrance ceremony to commemorate their No One Dies Alone initiative.

It was a beautiful, moving ceremony, befitting the charity and the kindness of its volunteers.

Whilst it was great to see so many familiar faces, it was very sad to hear some of the Compassionate Inverclyde volunteers we once interviewed are no longer with us.

A short backstory:

A couple of months ago whilst attending an appointment, we discovered, in a nearby room, a class dedicated to teaching its students how to shoot a film on their mobile phone.

Taking inspiration from this, and with a short trip to Krakow, Poland on the horizon, we decided to attempt to make a film, exclusively using footage recorded on our phones.

So what we have here is our first ever mobile phone film!

A short synopsis:

It is a short, contemplative piece exploring the city of Krakow, and the simple lessons we’ve neglected to learn from history.
