Thought this might be of interest to aspiring artists out there trying to get airplay. This was my exasperated, but hopefully constructive reply, to a typical approach to AND And Radio.

"Attention!"? Seriously, that’s your first approach to a new radio station?

Mate, I don’t wish to pour water on your fire, but having been you - an aspiring musician once upon a time - and having had help from others about my approaches to them, I feel duty bound to tell you that I don’t even read approaches like this. Why should I? It’s too long. It’s too demanding and the opening line has just made me grumpy.

I wish you all the best in your musical career, but honestly for me, this approach is a waste of your time and mine. At least say hello before your pitch. We all get Pitches all day from all over the world now. What makes you think we are just sitting here waiting for your wonderful tune to wow us?

Sorry to appear negative. I am actually trying to be helpful.
