⬆ Are you raising the visibility of your personal brand by meeting people in person?

LinkedIn is great...but it doesn’t beat meeting people face to face.

In person networking events give an ideal opportunity to get into new conversations, find common ground and talk about how you help people in your business.

is a wonderful monthly event where I meet and connect with local professionals in an informal and friendly way. Going regularly also means seeing familiar faces.

I like Business Buzz because it’s not about elevator pitches or handing out business cards without much thought.

It’s about conversations, getting know each other and making yourself memorable. You will end up telling people

but that’s just part of the experience of going to a networking event like Business Buzz. ⚡

📷 You can also use it as an ideal opportunity to take photos and use on your social media. I always do.

Personal branding is about letting people know you exist, being seen as much as possible and making it clear what your area of expertise is and becoming remembered and preferred.

Help your ideal clients to find you and let your network help you to be found too.

Leicester Buzz runs on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, pay as you go networking 10-12 midday. This has been brilliantly hosted by Paul Horne for over 4 years and he has worked so hard to build a great event in Leicester. Good luck to the new host when they join.

It’s well worth looking out for Business Buzz events in your area.

🧥 ‘Personal brand is a complex concept. If the jacket you want to wear doesn’t fit you, you would want to take it off one day. You need to find the best fitting jacket to make it work.’

Someone said this on one of my LinkedIn posts. It’s such an effective analogy.

Your personal brand should be like a well fitted jacket, one which sits comfortably and even gives you a boost when you wear it.

💭 Work out what makes you individual and unique, and you can stand out from all the other people who are offering the same products or services that you do.

Does that make sense?

Your personal brand helps your ideal customers to spot you in a crowded market. They get to know you and are ready to pay attention to what you are selling.

Of course not! 😃

I’ve been to a few events recently where the opportunity to have a free headshot has been available. So I’ve made the most of it.

This one was from when I spoke at the Gherkin in London for Precisely and the and Ireland SAP group.

A good bank of professionally taken headshots is certainly handy for your personal brand?
