Not long now until Norwich Games Con and are so excited to get back in an exhibition hall!

We had such a fun time last year when we were running demos of Sakana Stack in the build up to the Kickstarter campaign. This time round we’ll have Sakana Stack and Flower Cards available to buy.

We’re also hoping to have an early rough and ready prototype of Roller Disco ready! So if you want to come and give it a go pop by to the stand and let us know 🛼🪩

This weeks’ theme for is COLOUR and we wanted to share the colour scheme for our next release, Roller Disco 🛼🪩

It’s been a while since we’ve shared a weekly post as we’ve been super busy, but it’s great to be back and sharing some of the early design detail.

The colour palette chosen for Roller Disco has been carefully researched by Joss, looking into the history and subculture of roller disco rinks. We wanted to have something bright and engaging, evoking the disco colours of the early 1980s. The neon colours help to create the tone we want to set for Roller Disco; bold, fun and vibrant! Tones we feel match the mechanics and gameplay of Roller Disco.

When talking about colour, it is also crucial to mention the importance of accessibility in design to support colour blind players. We are looking at ways to build iconography into the card design to ensure colour blind players will be able differentiate the card suits easily.

This weeks’ theme for is TEACHING so wanted to share one of the most important stages of playtesting a new game - finding a volunteer to teach a blind playtest of your game!

Yesterday evening the amazing ran a blind playtest of our prototype for a new sequence-shedding card game called Roller Disco 🛼🪩

The design has been bubbling away for a while and Mike has been working on the rules recently. Having learned a lot from Sakana Stack, we are determined to get the rules into a great place before going into full design. We called on the brilliant for help as Editor and happy to say the blind playtest went really well, with just a couple of rulebook tweaks needed before the next playtest.

Our online store is now open!

We are delighted to confirm we are working with as the home for our online store. Bored Wreckers Marketplace is a fantastic online store for indie publishers to host and sell our games directly to our customers.

Only a few days to go until UKGE and the excitement is building!

This weeks’ theme for is VALUES so we thought that Mike would take to the airwaves for an Instagram Live at 8pm UK time this evening 🎙️

When we started up Huff No More we spent an evening mind-mapping values which were important to use and how we wanted to put them at the centre of everything we were doing. Those values are:

Create.
Play.
Uplift.

So Mike will talk a bit about what each of theses values mean to us on the Live later this evening.

One week to go!!! Can’t believe has come round so quick. So we thought we’d do a post to intro the Huff No More team.

First up Mike will be at UKGE for the full duration of the event, including the Thursday Show Preview. Mike is the designer of Sakana Stack and cannot wait to play some demos!

Next up is Joss who will be at UKGE on Saturday and Sunday. Joss is the Huff No More artist and graphic designer having painted and illustrated all artwork for Sakana Stack and Flower Cards 🎨 🖌️

Next we have Ben who is back for a second year on the stand running demos Friday and Saturday mornings. Ben is a fellow designer whose feedback has been key in helping us shape Sakana Stack. Ben will also be playtesting his game Pirates For Hire in the playtest zone on Friday 1:30pm-4:30pm and really worth playing, it’s lot of fun! 🏴‍☠️

And we have our new volunteer this year, Joe who will be running demos on Friday afternoon. Joe runs the amazing What If Blog which you should definitely subscribe to, along with being a key organiser of the community. Joe will also be playtesting his design Sky Relief on Saturday 10am-1pm which you should also definitely check out ✈️

So make sure you come to stand 3-657, we can’t wait to play some games with you!
