Into The Green

At Fishbulb Films we’re implementing a ‘Green Production’ initiative from day one. Having a production company that causes the least harm to the environment is our goal. We have implemented an environmental strategy for all of our projects, to make sure they’re as green as possible.

A 2009 study for Film London estimated the city’s carbon emissions for the screen production industry was 125,000 tonnes each year – excluding distribution and exhibition of films. This is the equivalent of the greenhouse gas emissions of 88,279 vehicles in a year.

For each production we have a designated environmental officer. The officer ensures that during each project we are being as conscious about our impact on the environment as possible.

Here are some ways in which we have implemented a green set initiative:

Reusable cold/hot liquid canisters for everyone on set.

Having recycling facilities at every filming location.

Digital call sheets.

Power down equipment when not in use.

Dailies are viewed via the cloud online rather than hard drives being ferried between set and production offices.

Receipt Bank: digital copies of receipts which eliminates the need for paper copies.

Having an environmental officer on every set to ensure that the production is as green as possible and these rules are being followed.
