'Nothing Else Matters (NEM) channels the inclusive energy dance music is truly about. Founded by BBC Radio 1 DJ and tastemaker Danny Howard, NEM’s roots lay in British nightlife where its events expanded into an electronic music record label supporting club-ready productions. Its catalogue features some of the most influential DJs including Detlef, Illyus & Barrientos, Lee Foss, Rhythm Masters, Se

condcity, Solardo and more. Influenced by Danny’s Radio 1 show, the label functions as a platform to break new talent as well as represent contemporary UK dance sounds. NEM global event series emulate the stripped-back essence of old school raves for a minimalist experience that keeps the music at the core of its soul.'

The art of the sample 🎛️

For his latest release ‘Woman’, Ejeca takes George Benson’s timeless ‘Turn Your Love Around’ and gives it a 2025 spin - injecting that unmistakable house energy while keeping the spirit of the original alive.

“I think songs like these from the 80s have such a party feel to them,” he says. “Speeding them up just adds something extra - that same energy a lot of 90s dance tunes captured when people were sampling straight off turntables. There’s something organic and pure about doing it that way.”

To celebrate the release, Ejeca shared five of his favourite sample-driven tracks - classics that capture the magic of turning something familiar into something completely new. From Daft Punk’s ‘Superheroes’ to Roger Sanchez’s ‘Another Chance’, these are tracks that show how sampling can be both nostalgic and forward-thinking.

“The George Benson sample just had so much music and appeal to it,” Ejeca adds. “You usually know straight away when it’s worth building a track around - and having Danny play it so much before it was even cleared or signed really helped.”
