Just a reminder that there is one week left until our deadline for Volume 4 of Apardjón - 1 September 2025. CALL FOR PAPERS.

Following the publication of our third volume, Apardjón is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for Volume 4 with a deadline of September 1 2025. We welcome submissions of articles of no more than 10,000 words and should be written in UK English. We are especially interested in interdisciplinary approaches and methodologies within the field of Viking- and medieval Scandinavia, but will also consider papers from different geographies that are connected to the Norse world. All submissions are expected to present original and previously unpublished research.

Submissions should be sent to [email protected] before 1 September 2025. Any queries can be sent to the editorial board via email or through our social media platforms.

Apardjón is pleased to present its third volume. This volume contains two articles and a note, and is accompanied by 5 book reviews.

Our first article is "Evolving Gender Identities in the Viking Diaspora — A Comparative Study of Orkney and the Isle of Man" by Tara Athanasiou. Our second is "From Viking to Sainthood: The Influence of Genre on Literary Gender Identity in Snorri Sturluson’s Óláfs saga helga" by Rosemary Kelly. Our note is "A Modern Runic Inscription from York" by Jasmin Higgs.

We would like to thank all of our authors for contributing to this volume. We would also like to thank everyone for their continued support Apardjón receives online.
