Robin Catto started DJing after leaving school in 1984 and began his radio career at Sussex University's Radio Falmer in 1985, joining Brighton's pirate station Faze FM soon afterwards. In 1989 he joined up with Manasseh, the London-based reggae sound system founded in 1985 by his school friends Nick Raphael, Bill Tuckey and Ed Maiden. Over the years, Manasseh featured regularly at Notting Hill Ca
rnival, and played many big dances including clashes with sound systems such as Jah Shaka, Jah Warrior, Volcano, Aba Shanti I, Jah Observer and Jah Tubby's. Robin also regularly presented Manasseh's Kiss FM radio show, a reggae institution which occupied the late night Saturday night/Sunday morning slot for 12 years from 1987 until 1999.
