Yes, I get invited to eat out and stay overnight… and yes, I often get paid for it too…. You could too 🥂

Here’s the thing though, it doesn’t just happen.

It’s a mix of:

🥂 Posting genuine, high-quality content about places I’ve paid to visit myself
🥂 Pitching directly to brands with a clear idea of what I can create for them
🥂 Being consistent so my work gets seen, shared, and recommended

A few years ago, Instagram wiped my food blog off the face of the internet.

No warning. No explanation. Just gone.

At first, I panicked. Then I grieved (yes, for an Instagram account 🙋‍♀️).
I gave up for a while because I was so demotivated from it and had zero way of getting it back!

But losing it taught me 3 lessons:

💡 Don’t build your whole brand on one platform - get an email list, facebook group, use multiple platforms!

💡 Focus on connection, not just numbers - followers from across the world aren’t going to use your service! Numbers are vanity.

💡 Resilience will get you further than any algorithm hack 🙌🏻

What eating out at restaurants has taught me about marketing them..

It’s never just one thing that lets a venue down.

It’s not that the food’s cold. It’s not that the service was slow or the waitress was a little bit rude.

It’s that everything felt a little off. A little meh.🫤

Thought it was time to do another little cheeky re-introduction seeing as there’s a fair few new faces 🥰

So let’s rewind…

In 2013, I graduated as a primary school teacher. I was the quietest child growing up… the one who kept herself to herself so for me to graduate as a teacher was a little bit mind-blowing 😆

Fast forward to 2019, I moved to Dubai to teach and, on the side, started food blogging. It was born out of a deep love for food (and an even deeper obsession with taking photos before anyone was allowed to touch their plate 🤭). But then I lost my account at 3.5k followers. I was gutted. I took 6 months (maybe even a year!?) off because honestly? I was salty about it. I nearly gave up.

But I didn’t.

Slowly, I came back. What started as sharing honest reviews and hidden gems has grown into so much more:
