In the stillness of Kuikka’s boreal forest, a lone wolf pauses—its reflection a mirror to the wild soul of the land.

Captured by in eastern Finland, this rare moment speaks to the silent tension of predator and place. The wolf stands poised at the forest’s edge, the water so still it becomes a perfect twin—a fleeting symmetry shaped by patience, fieldcraft, and light.

Filip used the Nikon Z9 paired with the NIKKOR Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S, extended to 560mm. Exposure: 1/500 sec, f/4, ISO 4000. Even in the dim light of the taiga, this setup rendered every whisker and ripple with clarity.

🐙 Flightless. Fearless. And fast.

These rare images of a Galápagos flightless cormorant hunting octopus — above and below the surface — come from wildlife photographer Lior Berman, featured in the latest Untamed Photo Magazine (Issue 7, out now!).

Lior’s article, “Shaped by Water,” dives into the evolutionary magic of the Galápagos shoreline — where birds swim, reptiles bask, and survival depends on adaptation. In his words: “Out here, nothing is textbook. You just observe — and let the sea teach you.”
