How can entrepreneurship not only build livelihoods, but also lift entire communities and create a happier, more connected world?

In today’s Business Elevation Show, I sit down with the remarkable Michael Glauser—entrepreneur, author, and Executive Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at Utah State University.

Michael’s journey is extraordinary: he’s built and sold thriving companies, cycled 4,000 miles across America to learn from small-town entrepreneurs, and now leads the SEED poverty alleviation programme, empowering thousands across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean to start small enterprises and double their household income.

We'll look deep into the powerful intersection of purpose, entrepreneurship, and human happiness—including:

🔹 How meaningful work reduces despair and anxiety

🔹 Why social entrepreneurship is essential for sustainable development

🔹 Six universal principles that help people and organisations truly thrive

If you believe business can be both profitable and profoundly good, this episode will spark big ideas about how your work can uplift others.

When I spoke with Dr Ted Scambos about the Thwaites “Doomsday” Glacier, one insight really struck me:

💡 Inaction is itself a decision — and often the most dangerous one.💡

In business and life, it’s easy to wait for more data, more certainty, or the “perfect moment.” But as Ted’s Antarctic research shows, sometimes the situation demands that we act before everything is clear.

The parallels with leadership are profound — urgency, teamwork under pressure, adaptability, and the courage to lead even when the path isn’t obvious.

If you haven’t listened yet, the latest Business Elevation Show episode is full of inspiration for anyone navigating complex challenges or leading through change.

Are you ready to discover what a glacier in Antarctica can teach us about leadership, urgency and action?

I’m thrilled to share the latest episode of the Business Elevation Show with Dr Ted Scambos, Senior Research Scientist at the University of Colorado.

We explore how the story of the enormous Thwaites Glacier — known as the “Doomsday Glacier” — becomes a vivid metaphor for business resilience, decision-making under pressure and stepping up when it matters most.

Here’s what you’ll take away:

- Why the pace of change (in nature and business) demands leaders who act now rather than wait.

- How Antarctic expedition-style teamwork, adaptability and communication map to high-stakes leadership in the commercial world.

- The importance of prioritising, staying flexible and avoiding “quick fix” mindsets — lessons from scientists facing extreme conditions.

- Why business-leaders have a unique role to play when politics stalls and how science, technology and leadership must intersect for real change.

If you’re in a position of influence — whether leading a team, building a business or simply looking to step up your game — this conversation is message-rich, timely and applicable.

Tap the link, listen in, and then ask yourself: What’s the one thing I need to change today to lead with urgency and purpose?

Would love to hear your reflections once you’ve tuned in. Drop me a comment or send me a message — let’s keep the discussion going!

What can Antarctica teach us about leadership, innovation, and resilience?

Deep beneath the frozen frontier of Antarctica, a massive glacier the size of the UK is sliding toward the sea. The Thwaites — often called the “Doomsday Glacier” — could raise sea levels by more than two feet and reshape coastlines and economies worldwide.

On today's live Business Elevation Show, I’m joined by Ted Scambos, Senior Research Scientist at the University of Colorado and veteran of 24 Antarctic expeditions. Together we’ll explore what satellite data and years on the ice can teach us about climate tipping points, human ingenuity, and the kind of leadership our world needs right now.

We’ll also discuss how science, technology, and business can unite to create hope — not heat — in a warming, uncertain world.

Join us for an eye-opening conversation that connects the poles to the boardroom.

Can ambition and joy truly co-exist?

In our fast-paced world, ambition often comes with pressure — the need to constantly do more, achieve more, be more.

But what if ambition could actually bring more joy, freedom, and fulfilment instead of exhaustion?

That’s the question we explored in the latest episode of The Business Elevation Show, where I was joined by the remarkable Rha Goddess — cultural innovator, social entrepreneur, and CEO of Move The Crowd.

Together, we looked at what Rha calls “intentional ambition” — the art of pursuing success that’s aligned with your values, purpose, and wellbeing.

Some powerful ideas we cover include:

✨ The difference between wounded ambition and true ambition

✨ How to realign your work with what genuinely lights you up

✨ Why joy and fulfilment are not indulgences — they’re essential for sustainable leadership

This is a truly inspiring and grounding conversation — one that invites us to redefine success and rediscover the freedom that comes from living and leading authentically.

Have you ever noticed how the most persuasive people are usually the best listeners?

In the latest Business Elevation Show with Paul du Toit, CSP, we explored why genuine influence begins with understanding, not talking.

Paul reminded me that persuasion isn’t about clever words — it’s about connection, empathy, and integrity. When we really listen, we earn trust. And trust opens doors to collaboration, impact, and change.

Key takeaway:

Before you try to persuade, take time to hear the message beneath the words.

Paul’s insights are a masterclass in ethical influence and leadership with heart.

What if persuasion could become your superpower — for doing good, not just getting things done?

In the latest Business Elevation Show, I chat with Paul du Toit, CSP about how persuasion, when grounded in authenticity, becomes a powerful tool for influence and positive impact.

Highlights from our conversation:

- Persuasion ≠ manipulation (when done ethically)

- Listening (not just talking) is central

- Simple language and nonverbal cues can move mountains

- Asking for help builds trust

- Getting commitments in writing solidifies action

Paul’s journey is inspiring — he was the first speaker in Africa this century to receive the CSP (Certified Speaking Professional) designation from the National Speakers Association (USA), and he continues to elevate how we show up in leadership and communication.

If you’re a leader, coach, change-maker, or someone who wants to make an impact with your words — this conversation is for you.
