The label hosts a family of artists creating a timeless and diverse array of sounds, connected by a common thread of authenticity. Releases have featured the likes of Khruangbin, Garden City Movement, Sasha’s ‘Scene Delete’, Rae & Christian and Chaouche.

“Marea (Blessed Madonna) and Pat Alvarez and I got together in a small underground studio and put together the embryonic version of this song in a moment of first (musical) connections, quite quickly. Marea told me she never let her own voice be on records usually, but Pat and I encouraged her to include her singing. It’s beautiful."

“Even touching time isn’t time enough” is her own hypnotic riddle and is a fascinating hook I think. The lyrics and melodies beyond that came from me - a song I was writing about someone losing their mother. Imagined scenarios dealing with death and loss and a life being remembered and honoured. You know, cheery stuff for a house banger."

Where the phrase 'Choose Life' once carried the blunt irony of 1990s counter-culture, the new single from Irvine Welsh and Steve Mac (aka The Spotters) refocuses it on the present: the shift from chemical to digital dependency, and the concentration of power, the "modern culture of powerlessness" that the new Trainspotting musical sets out to interrogate.
