Washing your own car (or rescuing someone else’s long-forgotten barn find) is one of life’s simpler pleasures. At least, that’s my view.

I’ve teamed up with AVA, the Norwegian pressure washer brand that has earned a permanent place in my garage kit. One favourable model in my opinion is the AVA Easy 57.

A few reasons why. It comes with a 10-year warranty, delivers 145 bar of pressure and 500 litres per hour of water flow, and is designed in Norway with reliability and ease of use in mind. Whether it’s patios, driveways, walls, or the latest automotive archaeology project, it takes it all in stride.

AVA also does something increasingly uncommon: it wants owners to maintain and repair their own equipment. Replacement parts are easy to get hold of and straightforward to fit.

It’s a genuine right-to-repair philosophy, backed up with practical support and thoughtful design, helping machines stay in service for years rather than seasons.

In an age where many products seem to arrive with one eye already on retirement, AVA has taken a different approach.

Or just keep listening on Spotify, Acast, Apple Music, Amazon music and all those places.

Contains about 27% car chat. The rest is verbal slurry.

Records are made to be broken, and that’s exactly what JCB are known for.

The next challenge? Reaching world record speeds with hydrogen power.

Recently I was invited to the launch of the all-new JCB Hydromax, built in just over a year using JCB’s hydrogen combustion technology. Revealed with twin hydrogen engines, one front, one rear, producing a staggering 1600 horsepower. ⚡️

The world record attempt takes place this August, exactly 20 years after Dieselmax hit 350mph.

Now the question is… can the JCB Hydromax beat it?

2 years ago today my patinated 2CV rescue project was in several large pieces, with the term recommissioning creeping out of control somewhat.

Doing this renovation was enormously rewarding with the gang at but now I've decided to let it go to a new home. If you are considering a heavily weathered but fundamentally rebuilt 1963 2CV AZAM with new chassis and 80s running gear, contact the 2CV Shop now.

I've another Citroen in the queue....

Welcome to y'all.

This week I've borrowed an early LHD version of the new Twingo and am wearing an that has been worn hard for the last year or so.

It's a Deepstar Chrono green edition, on the green NATO canvas strap. The Aquastar brand originated from the early 1960s and uses a Swiss automatic movement. It's a 39mm polished bezeled piece that carries some weight and thickness (just how I like my wristwatches). This model typically comes in black, vintage grey and also blue from memory.

Go on then, what are you driving and wearing on your wrist this week? Tag me in your pics or comment below.

Some people have assumed I have given up on the Allegro Type R Sleeper project. I haven't, but there has been a pause this year on progress for several reasons. But I'm hoping to rekindle things soon, and apologies to everyone who is patiently waiting for an update episode on

A few key things have been completed. Look closely at the 2nd photo. Yep, those are the new stealth custom dash clocks created by that mimic the originals, but with the AllegRo logo. Once the original dash is brown flocked and back in, it will look almost completely factory.

These guys create the gauges for many high end restomod projects and now my gauges will work accurately with the Ecu and PDM.

Talking of wiring, there's an incredible new loom built for the Agro by that is next level (you can see what I did there) and all of the above will be explained and demonstrated in the next - loooong awaited - update video.

Who knows, we might do a first fire up....

Guess what happened. I forgot to charge the bargain Tesla(G) yesterday, so had to do a last sec switch into the smallest engined car in my fleet. The patinated mild restomod 'big block' 602 2CV.

My kids don't like it, because it looks 'dirty and broken'. I love it. Driving flat over speed ramps and over potholes makes this classic seriously good around the town.

It's been back on the road 10 months now since the waistline down rebuild with and although I haven't used it as much as I wanted this summer, I love driving something I've helped bring back to life.

If you haven't watched the videos on its resurrection and the reason for it languishing in the first place then I'd urge you to.

This week published his new book. He isn't asking me to say this, but Greg is one of the nicest humans I've ever met. He also happens to be a talented swine, and one of said talents is writing.

The new book highlights the need to keep looking for the fun in life, regardless of your age or demographic. I subscribe to this mantra, even if I have done it unknowing for years.

Needless to say Greg wrote something in my book that can't really be repeated here (because he's a naughty bastard) but some of his pet peeves mirror mine to the point of being spooky. He's wrong about cats though.

All the best for the future everyone. Literally.

Probably should have done this for but I was chin deep in other stuff.

This was my 1966 Pontiac Parisienne convertible. It was my £1400 summer romance about 22 years ago. Yeah, I had more hair, but check out where the steering wheel is located.

This might provide a clue for this wknd's barnfind video.

The last 2 photos show my old rented house, which always had interesting stuff outside. The was my longtermer road/race car when I was still working at (drove it through all 4 seasons sans roof, and loved it).

The '68 Impala SS 396 convertible was an ebay bargain that I should have never sold, but hey.

The Granada mk2 2.8 estate was my Dad's car for years, and it had come up to my place to sell it for him. It ended up going to a collector in Northern France. Hope it's still around!
