Happy New Year from the Headcorn team ✨

We’re delighted to confirm that the 1944 P-51D Mustang Moonbeam McSwine will be flying at Headcorn International Airshow 2026.

Based on the markings flown by triple ace Capt. William T. Whisner, Moonbeam represents one of the most iconic fighters of the Second World War. Seeing a Mustang like this over Headcorn is especially meaningful, with the airfield’s own wartime connections to USAAF Mustang units in 1944.

We hope you all had a great Christmas but its time to start thinking about 2026.

We thought we would wake you up with some high energy news about a high energy aerobatic display coming to the 2026 Midlands Air Festival. You will be blown away by Chris Burkett in his hi tech Extra 300 aircraft! Chris will be hurtling around the Ragley sky with some astounding unlimited aerobatics, rolls, spins and loops, with some more manoeuvres so extreme there are no names for them, including an incredible end over end tumble.

His extra is powered by a 315 HP 6 cylinder Lycoming engine at speeds of up to 250mph in a dive. It can withstand + or - 10G which is more than even the most experienced pilot can stand without a G suit. Chris is a renowned international display pilot and also the CEO of Flow Solutions , a company that solves aerodynamic problems for the aviation industry and F1 motor racing teams.

The Midlands Air Festival is an all advance ticket event and there are strictly no tickets available at the gate, so get your tickets now because we always sell out on all three days of this spectacular show. Currently children under 13 are completely free and standard parking is also free.

Tickets for all three days are already selling fast with premium parking and seats in our exclusive Slipstream crowdline enclosure already running very low. We always try our best to give you a good deal so tickets will never be cheaper. To buy tickets for the festival and our brilliant premium camp site, go to www.midlandsairfestival.com

There is also info on all the great displays we have already booked and where to see more upcoming spectacular acts still to be announced.

GREAT WAR DISPLAY TEAM CONFIRMED

For our third confirmation we go back to the beginning of the 'Age of Flight' with our first historic participant, the acclaimed The Great War Display Team.

They will be bringing to life the pioneering days of aviation at the Hampshire Air Festival 2026.

Flying meticulously crafted replicas of the First World War’s most recognisable aircraft the team recreates the drama and daring of early aerial combat.

They capture a defining chapter in the 'Age of Flight', when pilots pushed fragile machines of wood, fabric and wire into the skies for the first time, laying the foundations for everything that followed.

The Great War Display Team’s presence will connect visitors directly with that era, reminding us how far aviation has progressed in the last 122 years.

If you haven't yet bought your tickets for 12-13 September you can do so here: https://bit.ly/AirFestWeb

Tickets are priced from £27.50 until 31 January.

Its our turn to give you a little seasonal gift, with the announcement that we will be welcoming Isabel Rutland to the 2026 Midlands Air Festival in her P51D Mustang Marinell.

This stunning aircraft is a true warbird, having taken down two FW190 and two BF109’s in her short 45 days of active service before being shot down herself. The name Marinell comes from the wife of the first pilot to fly the aircraft operationally, Captain Bradford V. Stevens of the 504th Fighter Squadron.

This Mustang is powered by a Rolls-Royce V-1650 Merlin, producing 1490HP and a top speed of 437mph. Armed with six Browning 50cal heavy machine guns and two 1,000lb bombs when required.

The P51 was a true game changer and is said to have changed the course of the war in Europe with its ability to es**rt the allies daylight bombing raids deep into enemy territory.

Isabel is a professional warbird and aerobatic pilot and also holds an ATPL airline pilot licence. This will be one of our new displays for 2026 as neither Isabel or Marinell have displayed at the Midlands Air Festival before. It will be truly spectacular display in the close up and intimate surroundings of the historic Ragley Hall Estate, especially when you hear that spine chilling banshee wail that the Mustang is famous for. Guaranteed to raise the hairs on the back of your neck!

Tickets are already on sale and make remarkably good Christmas presents even if we do say so ourselves. www.midlandsairfestival.com. (By the way, can you help us to spread the good news simply by pressing SHARE)
