Paul Cram

Paul Cram Hi, I’m Paul Cram. I act in indie thrillers and horror films, tell weird little stories, and hoard books and colognes like they’re sacred.

If you like your art a little creepy and your artists a little tender, you’re in the right place.

In June we read "The Third Person" by Emma Grove. This 920 page nonfiction graphic memoir was nominated for a LAMBDA award. The memoir tells of the point in the author's life when she faced her past trauma and found a way forward towards becoming who she is today.

If you’ve ever had your faith weaponized against you, I hope this episode meets you where you are.
I’m on This Q***r Book Saved My Life discussing the brilliant, brainy, and healing book by John Boswell:

It’s not light reading—but neither is coming out. Link in bio

I worked on and off for years at The Flower Shoppe with Mary Lou and her husband Jim (who I miss dearly). They were open, loving, and loud supporters of the LGBTQ+ community… but I still didn’t come out to them for a long time.
The problem wasn’t them, it was me. I hadn’t made peace with myself yet.
Fast forward to a quiet Thanksgiving where I wasn’t with family anymore—I was just done pretending. Mary Lou and I sat on stools, eating muffins, and I finally told her: “I’m gay.”
Her response? It was perfect. And I still tear up thinking about it.

So when we started filming "Sunny" the new short comedy by Shelly Nagell (shot in Minneapolis this month), I asked if Bobby could sport some arm ink. Shelly and our makeup queen Brenda Torre said yes! Legends.
📸 Image 1: hour after Brenda applied the InkBox tattoo. Is barely visible.
📸 Image 2: That evening—moody lighting, peak romantic guy who doesn't wash his arm.
📸 Image 3: Two days in—fully bloomed, like Bobby’s feelings at a romantic movie.
Bobby’s motto? “Life’s too short for sleeves or subtlety.”
I try to honor that. 😎

Ever had a moment where you gave it your all—and life said, “Cool, but the battery’s dead”?
That was me, in Imperfect Sky, standing in my tighty-whities, emotionally wrecked, and mid-line in the most vulnerable scene of the film... when the camera cut out.

In this behind-the-scenes story, I share what it was like playing a drug dealer hopelessly in love, the line that grounded my entire performance, and how sometimes, as an actor and a human, you only get one shot.

🗣️ Coming out in a religious household
📖 How books helped him heal and express himself
🎥 Being an introvert in a very extroverted industry
💐 His surprising passion for perfume and scent
💡 And why being fully yourself is the most powerful act of resistance

From founding the Men-Who-Read book club to inspiring others through film and advocacy, Paul shows us what it looks like to live unscripted and unapologetic.
