☀️ On Saturday we had the pleasure of attending our lovely friends at Buckingham Flower Farm’s wonderful summer solstice party! 🥳

The weather was nothing short of perfect and I think I spent a merry hour (at least!) picking flowers, chatting and having such a lovely girlie time in the flower field!

Keep an eye out on the Buckingham Flower Farm insta as I think Jess might be planning to hold a similar event at the of the summer 🤞🏼

Swipe left to see my gorgeous bunch of British grown flowers. I just love them and they smell divine! 🌸

Celebrate Buckingham 2025 is happening TODAY! 🥳☀

A Day of Community, Heritage, and International Friendship

Buckingham is set to come alive with music, dance, and celebration as the town prepares to host Celebrate Buckingham 2025 – a free, family-friendly event bringing together the community for a day of joy, connection, and commemoration.

This year’s celebration is particularly special as it also marks Buckingham’s official twinning with Valmadrera, strengthening ties and friendship between the two communities.

Programme Highlights Include:

🕺Morris Dancing from 11:45am – 12:15pm
🤝Twinning Ceremony at 12:30pm – 1:00pm
🎤The Polka Dots, a vintage singing duo, performing two lively sets from 1:15pm – 3:00pm
💫 A wide variety of local traders, community groups, food stalls, and interactive activities for all ages

The event embraces a 1940s theme in honour of VE and VJ Day, with visitors encouraged to join in the spirit through costume, music, and decorations.

Admission is free, and everyone is welcome. Whether you’re coming to browse local crafts, enjoy live music, take part in the twinning celebration, or simply soak up the community atmosphere, there’s something for everyone at Celebrate Buckingham.

🌅 Sunset Serenity Yoga & Prosecco with at 🧘‍♀️✨

Last night was nothing short of magical. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Buckingham Flower Farm, RestoreU by Sonia guided us through a calming sunset yoga session surrounded by vibrant blooms and birdsong.

The energy was peaceful, the setting utterly serene, and every moment felt like a gentle exhale. 🌸 From grounding stretches to mindful breathwork, Sonia created a space to truly unwind, reconnect, and just be.

And what better way to close the evening than with a glass of chilled Prosecco, shared in laughter and good company as the sun dipped below the horizon? 🥂🌞

If you’re local to Buckingham and craving a soul-soothing experience with a touch of sparkle, don’t miss the next one. Your mind, body, and spirit will thank you.

🎭✨ Theatre Review: Hairspray The Musical ✨🎭

🌟 You Can’t Stop the Beat—and you won’t want to! This vibrant production of Hairspray delivers big hair, bigger dreams, and an unforgettable night of music and dance at .theatre this half term!

I hadn’t seen Hairspray before, not even the film, so I had no idea what to expect! But I absolutely loved it, it was right up my street, from the catchy tunes like “Good Morning Baltimore” to the show-stopping “You Can’t Stop the Beat,” every number had the us clapping along.

🎤 Standout performance from brought Tracy Turnblad’s inspiring message of inclusion and self-love to life, with plenty of laughs and heartwarming moments along the way. The other Standout performance for me was Tracy’s mum Edna Turnblad played by the ever so talented , boy did they have us all in stitches!

✨Hairspray isn’t just a feel-good musical—it’s a celebration of diversity, body positivity, and believing in yourself.

💬 Final verdict: If you’re after a show that lifts your spirits and gets you dancing in your seat, this one’s a must-see.

🎟️ 💖 Hairspray is showing at Aylesbury Theatre all half-term until Saturday and tickets from £25. Go and see it if you get a chance. You wont regret it!

Our Story

Like many small business owners, my husband Neil and I (Laura) had a plan when we launched Community Contact Magazine, to help contribute towards our wedding in 2015. The very first pilot magazine was created in December 2014 and was just delivered in the village of Twyford.

We have always been passionate about supporting local businesses and wanted to create something that these businesses, small, medium or large, could all use to market themselves to the local area. The pilot was a success, so we decided to create a bi-monthly magazine that would go out to Buckingham, Winslow and the surrounding villages and that would bring the community together, hence our name – Community Contact.

After we got married, we soon went on to have our first baby (we love a busy life!) Whilst on maternity leave I made the decision to create a lifestyle that didn’t conform to the standard 9 to 5, but to work around being a mum, enjoying those early times with our little boy Archie that you just don’t get back if you miss them. Developing the magazine with a more manageable work / life balance was always an aim and I wanted the time and flexibility to create a magazine which champions local businesses, in particular offering small business owners an affordable, supportive platform to reach their customers.

Our magazine now goes out to over 8,500 homes in Buckingham, Winslow and many of the surrounding villages, with an unrivalled advertising rate accessible to all. We have recently launched our new website that has it’s very own business directory, a parent hub, articles, recipes, competitions, offers and much more.
