Okehampton Show – 14th August 2025

As you explore Okehampton Show you can find everything from traditional Showing Classes to Bubble artists and Craft shops to Morris Dancing teams.

There’s entertainment all day long, with Falconry, Gun Dog Displays, Dangerous Steve, and the Fun Family Dog Show, which you can enter on the day at the entertainment ring. Down the Showground, along their all-weather tracks you’ll find the family zone, where you can meet the Giant Tortoises, have a go at sports and craft activities with OCRA, scale Adventure Okehampton’s climbing wall and visit Farm West Educational trailer. There’s something for everyone and kids go free!

Sand Art Craft Workshop
Thursday, 14th August – 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
This fun and interactive session allows children to create a beautiful piece of art using vibrant sands. This workshop is designed to welcome primary school-aged children to create with a parent and is catered for all skill levels, promising a delightful morning or afternoon of creativity. Each session lasts up to an hour.

Quilling Craft Workshop
Thursday, 21st August - 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
This fun and interactive workshop allows you to create a beautiful piece of quilling art and is designed to welcome children aged 10+ and adults. Each session lasts up to 1 hour and 30 minutes, giving you the perfect opportunity to create a quilling masterpiece.

This Scratch Art Workshop is perfect for all young artists who love to create dazzling designs! This session will teach children how to transform simple black surfaces into vivid, colourful masterpieces using scratch art techniques. Anyone can take part in this UK wide survey which involves finding a space to spot and observe butterflies and moths for just 15 minutes and then recording your findings via the website or the app

Plymouth is all set for the West End Carnival

Join in on Saturday 23rd August at the vibrant West End of Plymouth City Centre.

Brought to you by the Plymouth City Centre Company, the carnival promises to be a FREE fun-packed family day of circus performances, live music, dance, facepainting, food and craft stands, carnival rides, fortune teller, live music, street entertainment, classic cars and family activities.

Take a ride on the fairground attractions, Planes, Swing Seats and Children’s Striker at Frankfort Gate from 11am to 4pm. Don’t miss Punch and Judy performances at 1pm and 2pm.

In the lead up to the big day, from 9th August, follow the Carnival Trail around the West End, then enter the competition to win one of the 3 voucher prizes to spend on the high street. Pick up a trail map from Daamn Good Bakes, 104 New George Street, Plymouth.

Don’t forget to explore the many shops, cafes and restaurants around Plymouth city centre. Look out for West End businesses running special offers and activities throughout the day!
