Did you know that when you record in a studio you can request that the individual tracks for each song be exported and saved as stems for import into another computer. This allows you to take your songs to a different studio for mixing. This is common practice in the recording industry where production and recording is done in one studio by a producer and then sent to another studio for a mix engineer to mix the record.
If the studio you record in uses the same Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) as the studio mixing your record then you just need the project file saved on to a DVD or uploaded to a cloud server and this can then be opened by the mix engineer. However there are drawbacks to this method as the mix engineer may not have the same plugins as the production studio and the recording will change as a result. So in order to ensure compatibility, stems are generally the better option. Always ensure that the folder containing the stems for a song has the tempo of the song in the label.
