Thank you Rooléh for the lovely words on the mastering for his next release ‘Impulse’ which is already receiving huge support, and will be released later this year.

Reboot was on mixing duties for this one and did an amazing job on it, which always helps the final mastering result.

In July 2015 I delivered the masters of the first release on Solid Grooves Records

Since then, the label has gone on to become a world recognised brand, from hosting their nights at DC10 Ibiza to organising sell out festivals, as well as becoming a leading label within the scene; now celebrating their 100th release featuring the artists that have helped shape the label.

Behind the scenes, Michael Bibi , PAWSA and Ramin Rezaie work tirelessly and what they have achieved with the brand is a testament to their hard work.

A big thanks to the guys for having me around for the last decade, and I hope to work with them for many years to come.

And we’re off!

The first week back after the holidays and already starting with some great releases.

During the holidays, I did a lot of redesigning & reinvestment in the studio.

There’s now a fully functioning referencing room (room two), utilising the Focal SM9’s & sub, Amphion Loudspeakers ltd.'s lovely sounding One 18's, surround monitoring using Focal & Monitor Audio, with new referencing DAC’s for room two & additional DAC’s for the main mastering room; so now we have the Dangerous Music Convert system (Convert 2, AD+, Monitor ST etc), Kii Audio Remote for the Kii Three’s using either USB or Optical, RME ADI-2 Dac FS for referencing stuff catered more toward HiFi, and custom made signal routing via iOS to be able to route signals out of the main mastering room into room two & reference the audio on multiple systems in separate rooms, while being able to emulate different room modes & speaker systems. So after many hours of fiddling, head scratching and wiring, it’s safe to say that if it sounds good in the mastering room, and if it sounds good in the referencing room, then it’ll sound good pretty much everywhere.

For those of you that are into 3D printing; I’ve also started doing bits in the work shop where I’ll be designing studio accessories using CAD and 3D design, and uploading the designs for free over on Printables, starting off with a custom made Kii Three remote stand, and a cable rack (there’s some other really silly bits on my Printable page too that are just for fun). This is a work in progress so there’ll be more bits added over time, but if you have some ideas of what we can make then please send them over, and I’ll do my best if time allows (and it's not too complex!).

Ending 2024 with a bang Ranj has been on something of a roll over the last year or so. His productions / remixes have caught the attention of the likes of amongst a host of peers. This is his fourth remix for and it’s has just landed him a hat-trick of Beatport number one in the Electronica Hype Chart. This time leapfrogging to get there. Congratulations to him on this achievement and we hope these successes continue into 2025.
