Without doubt my favourite hook for 24 is the Clinga either in straight point or beaked point. They have never let me down. I’m a massive fan of barbless hooks and take them to every venue I go so having the hook that won’t let you done is paramount. Fished on a Ronnie with a fused hooklink and a Super Buoyant hookbait has to be the one for me right now. 💪🏻

A couple of weeks between sessions and I’m back on the bank for another day/nighter down the syndicate water. I’ve been a member here for many years partly because the lake is never busy and the carp are in amazing condition and growing. One day soon the lake will have a fifty pounder or even two and it’ll be nice to see one lucky angler bank it. But I digress.

This session stated well with this 28lb 8oz mirror. I should have topped up with a Spomb of Cell but I didn’t (bad move) and as expected nothing else turned up. But I’m happy with the result. Back next week. 👌

Well it’s been a dry few weeks for me recently with work and a bad back plus a couple of blank sessions but I finally got back out for a 24hour trip. Simple tactics again did the trick and stopped me going crazy. Cell boilies with a Cell hookbait always seems to get you out of trouble and at first light this awesome 39lb 4oz made an appearance. Intervalometer played up and stopped working but I got the image (eventually). It pays to keep going even when things get in the way or you’re struggling. It’s worth it in the end. 👊🏻

24hour session for me this week, I just had to have ago as it’s a full moon! Well I never really thought a full moon brings out the big commons and this trip it was either luck, skill or moon I don’t care. Some will say the moon many will say all three. What would you say? Anyway this beautiful 36lb 6oz common loved a ISO Fish hookbait on a Clinga Wafter rig. 👊🏻🍻

Nice to have another under the belt after a few dry sessions recently. Not the biggest in the lake at 29lb but a welcome one that loved the ISO Fish 10mm boilies. Clinga Ronnie on a clip system making up the rig. 👊🏻🍻

With the hot weather ahead it’s even more important to keep your lovely carp wet all the time. I always have a bucket of water with me making sure my prize is always covered. A quick few photos and then returned to be caught again by another lucky angler.
