Scottish Loyalists would like to wish all Brothers, Sisters, Bandsmen and Women attending today's County Grand Lodge of Ayrshire Renfrewshire & Argyll Boyne Demonstration in Kilwinning a fantastic day!

We hope everyone has a great day and that the weather is favorable.

Unfortunately (and much to our disappointment! đź‘€), our team are currently soaking up the sunshine in Turkey, so we won't be bringing you any content from today's event.

However, our good friends at Scottish Band Parades will be in attendance, so be sure to keep an eye on their page for photographs, videos and coverage throughout the day.

Have a great day everyone and safe travels to all those making the journey.

Statement from SAC Chairman Brother John Carmichael

Brethren, friends and supporters,

Following another tremendous SAC Relief of Derry celebration, I want to place on record my sincere thanks to everyone who helped make the day in Ardrossan such a success.

First and foremost, my thanks go to Ardrossan Walker Club for the welcome, hospitality and hard work shown in hosting this year’s celebration. Your efforts did not go unnoticed, and you should be proud of the part you played in delivering a memorable day for the Association.

It was also a privilege to welcome Worthy Governor Brother William Walker, Lieutenant Governor Brother Ronnie Cole, General Secretary Brother David Hoey, and many other distinguished guests who joined us for the occasion. There were too many to mention individually, but your attendance was greatly appreciated.

A special word of thanks must also go to Most Worthy Grand Master Brother Andy Murray. Your continued support and commitment to working together in the right spirit is greatly valued by the SAC, and it is exactly the type of partnership we must continue to build on for the future.

I also want to recognise the outstanding work of our Blue Coat Senior Marshal Team. The organisation, discipline and professionalism shown throughout the day was exceptional and played a major part in the smooth running of the event.

To our Branch Clubs, Bands and all those who travelled to Ardrossan, thank you. The decorum, standard and respect shown throughout the day was first class. As Chairman, I was extremely proud to lead you all as we marked the proud history and heritage of the Apprentice Boys of Derry and remembered the enduring significance of the Siege of Londonderry.

My sincere thanks also go to Police Scotland, North Ayrshire Council, the first aid teams, snack vans, stewards, marshals, volunteers and everyone working behind the scenes. Events of this scale do not happen by chance. They take planning, cooperation and commitment, and we are grateful to every person who played their part.

🎖️ Awards from the day 🎖️

🏅 SAC Chairman’s Best Band – County Flute Band
🏅 Governor’s Choice Best Band – Govan Protestant Boys

No Surrender 🇬🇧

Lazy Journalism Strikes Again

Once again, sections of the media have shown just how little effort they put into reporting on Scotland's loyal orders and cultural organisations.

Both the Glasgow Times and The Scottish Sun have labelled this Saturday's parade as an "Orange Walk", despite the event actually being organised by the Apprentice Boys of Derry, a completely separate organisation with its own history, traditions and identity.

Imagine the outcry if journalists continually misidentified other cultural, religious or community organisations. Yet when it comes to loyalist culture, accuracy seems to be optional.

This is exactly why our Not Always Orange campaign exists. Every parade involving the loyal orders or bands is lazily branded an "Orange Walk" regardless of who is organising it. Whether through ignorance, lack of research, or a desire to generate clicks, it does a disservice to both readers and the organisations involved.

We aren't asking for favourable coverage, only accurate coverage.

The Apprentice Boys of Derry have a proud history stretching back centuries and deserve to be recognised correctly, just as every organisation should be.

Journalists: it takes seconds to check the facts
