The Official UK Songwriting Contest page. All songwriters worldwide can participate!

Everyone who enters this acclaimed and respected international contest, formed in in association with The BRIT Trust (of BRIT Awards fame), is told the judges score for each song and gets an official UKSC Certificate with details of their achievements. There are valuable guaranteed gifts and prizes worth many times the entry fee for everyone who enters - including song pitching opportunities and

songwriting courses. In the words of Channel 4 Television: "The UK Songwriting Contest does what it says on the tin! This is a real chance for new songwriters to break into the music business". We get asked this a lot. And the answer is Yes. You can even use an AI vocalist if you cannot get a real vocalist. Re backing: we accept AI music backing if you wrote the lyrics and melody yourself and no AI was used in composition. See the Info page on the UKSC website for very clear details about this. FAQ: I can't sing. Can I get other people to sing and play my song?

A: Yes, this is very common. Many entrants use other singers and musicians or even AI to perform their song - especially if they are not confident about their voice or playing abilities. However, remember that this is a songwriting contest and the vocals themselves (with the exception of the Singer / Songwriter category) are not being judged. Our experienced judges are interested in the songwriting process. They are trained to look beyond the vocals and production value of the song and to evaluate the art and the craft which goes into the writing of each song.
