🌉 Happy Anniversary to a Welsh Icon!

in 1805, the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct — the “Stream in the Sky” — was officially opened after 10 years of bold engineering and back-breaking work.

At 307 metres long and standing 38 metres above the Dee Valley, it’s still the longest and tallest navigable aqueduct in Britain. Designed by Thomas Telford and William Jessop, its iron trough was a world-first at the time and a piece of industrial engineering so ahead of its age that it’s now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Whether you’ve boated over it, walked beneath it, or simply admired it from afar, Pontcysyllte remains one of Wales’s most awe-inspiring landmarks.

A masterpiece of courage, craft, and a little bit of awe-inspiring madness. ❤️

Did you know - The Aqueduct has significant importance to our choir? So mush so, that it features on our crest!

A huge thank you to Keith Potts and the management team at the Pafiliwn Llangollen Pavilion for allowing us the use of the field for the tractor run! Without their generosity we wouldn’t be able to put on such a great event!

Thank you!!! 🚜🎄✨
