When I started photography, I had no idea how much it would shape my life. I was just experimenting, taking photos of friends, unsure of my style or what I wanted to create. I remember feeling overwhelmed, questioning if I was good enough, if anyone would ever want to work with me, if this could really be the right career path for me.
Fast forward to now, and this little piece of equipment has allowed me to tell countless stories (both good and bad), meet incredible people, and build a life I dreamed of as a kid. Growing up in Jersey, a very small island secluded from the rest of the world, I dreamt of building a life somewhere else, meeting new people and living independently doing what I love. And I did exactly that! Moved away from all family and friends, got into uni, stepped outside of my comfort zone meeting loads of new souls, started driving in a different country, moving city twice and moved in with my partner who now supports me in everything I do.
I’ve captured projects that have meant the world to others, whether it’s a brand launching their vision, a coach connecting with their clients, or a business showcasing their impact. But the truth is, the camera doesn’t do the magic, it’s really the heart and intention behind it. It’s about listening to your clients, understanding their vision, and creating something meaningful for them. It’s about learning, improving, and pushing past those doubts that try to hold you back.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: You don’t have to have it all figured out to start. You just have to start. Every photo, every video, every experience adds up. And someday, you’ll look back and realise you’re living the dream you were once afraid to pursue, or… just scared of. The life you didn’t believe could be yours.
So here’s to the messy beginnings, the creative hustle, the late nights, the ideas that don’t work, trial and error, and the stories waiting to be told. Whatever your dream is, don’t wait. Start today, even if it’s imperfect. Can’t wait to see you get it wrong so you can get it right 👊🏼📸🥰
