owner Onkar Singh embodies the American Dream. He moved to the United States of America from a small village in India at the young age of 17. He worked at a gas station in New Jersey for four years and then progressed to buying his first truck. He started his own trucking and brokerage company and later entered the world of real estate construction and development. He has completed several residential and commercial projects and is now building a skyscraper called Singh Tower, which will forever change the skyline of Jersey City with 30 stories, featuring 202 luxury rental and condominium residences, ground-floor retail, and approximately 16,000 square feet of office space.
Together with his friends, Onkar Singh started a non-profit organization called Let’s Share A Meal after observing food waste in American homes. The organization quickly expanded from serving 1,500 individuals to more than 20,000 meals every year across more than a hundred shelters. It operates based on Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s mission of serving free meals (Langar) to all.
Harleen Kaur, his daughter, is a business school graduate from Boston University. She helps run the family business and is actively involved with Let’s Share a Meal. She is deeply rooted in culture and religion.
