*** Please take the time to read the following***
For those of you who only know me through music or from our school years - you may be unaware that I am now a Firefighter and work at a station just outside of Leeds called Cleckheaton.
During the months of March and April all the staff across the four watches have been taking part in the Goggins Challenge with aim of raising £10,000 for Solving Kids Cancer and in particular a little girl from Cleckheaton called Beau who is in desperate need of special treatment in the US.
What is the Goggins Challenge? Well it’s the brainchild of former US Marine David Goggins and involves running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours (48 miles in total).
A massive effort by all involved has seen everyone smash the challenge and virtually half of the target raised - unfortunately due to a fairly bad back injury I myself have been unable to take part in the challenge.
This was very disappointing.
However my recovery is going well and my physio wants me to increase my movement so I am planning to do a walking version of the challenge as part of my rehab.
So on the evening of Sunday 17th I will start the challenge and will walk 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours.
This really is an amazing cause so please follow the link below and give what you can, every penny is massively appreciated and will go towards making a difference!!
Finally- If anyone would like to join me for a section of the walk I will be adding more information in the coming days - I am also requesting some new mixes I can download to listen to on the way!!
Sorry for the long post but it is a very worthy cause and although the walk will be a challenge its nothing in comparison to the fight this brave little girl has on her hands.
Thank you again to all that have sponsored so far, if you could spare a few pounds it’d be greatly appreciated.
