We are delighted to confirm that the next book from VCP, will be the start of a brand new series from Robin John Morgan.
The book is currently in production, aiming to be released in early to mid Summer 2025, which will land in time for the holiday reading season.
Robin will be returning to the full fantasy genre with his new title, “Oaken of the Winds” which will be the first of a new series, of which there is currently no set number of books, under the series name of “Sword for the Sky.”
We are delighted to see his return to fantasy, as he adds to a growing collection of enchanting and gripping tales, such as Han’s Cottage, The Ravens of Berengar trilogy, and the Heirs to the Kingdom series. He has become a writer of interesting and thought provoking tales of quality over the last twenty years, and we feel this new series will be no different, as he creates a whole new world filled with interesting and diverse races who clash.
We do not want to give too much away at this point, but his new series will focus mainly on three new characters, Night Shade, a wild and aggressive half Undine warrior, who has lived alone in the wilds since she was seven summers old. Nutriana, a sea fairing smuggler from Animatre, who runs contraband into the war ravaged areas of the land, and Oatin, the young son of the last leader of the Andalan, an ancient race of spiritual warriors, who have been the advisors and peace keeps of all the races for many years. Oaken’s father was killed by Balathral’s soldiers, as they swept the lands slaughtering and taking everything for themselves. Oatin, who managed to escape with his mother into hiding, is finally an adult, and is informed he is to take his fathers place, as wielder of a legendary sword, said to control the power of the four winds.
The story will follow Oatin, as he renamed Oaken of the four winds, and his group, as he sets off on a journey to try and save his young half Undine sister, Yandalla. Having being taken by soldiers, Yandalla is being transported to the lands of the Summanu to be ritually sacrificed. Oaken has to open his eyes, as he realises very quickly, his life of study around the four winds, has taught him nothing of life, other races and their belief, and also the evil brutality of how life has evolved on his war torn continent.
His journey will start this summer, as he encounters the new lands of hot deserts, green pastures, and a two spirit race who embrace the spirit of animals in their deep homeland jungle.
More updates will be posted closer to the time, so watch this space.
