I’ve been asked a lot why we moved. We’d known for a while our last house wouldn’t be our forever home. We wanted forever to preferably be detached and more rural. A day visit to this beautiful little (and very dog friendly) village by the Yorkshire moorland back in summer immediately prompted us to market our house and a week later, we had an offer accepted on our new home. The end of this carousel is literally at the back of our house and totally sums up the move. I feel so incredibly lucky to live here and to have the most beautiful animals and birds visiting our garden, and it’s all thanks to you for supporting me here 🥹 Lots to do next year, and I can’t wait to share it all with you 🥰 Here’s a round up of the first few weeks in our new home (swipe) 👉

We’ve inherited a white, grey and brown kitchen and although it’s very good quality and lovely to use, it really isn’t to our taste. We’re replacing it next year and also installing a window and skylight, this space really needs it!
In the meantime, we chose this subtle pink which reminds me of strawberry ice-cream 💕🍦 The biggest difference of course was the light worktop and stick-on tiles. I honestly cannot believe how much difference those tiles made and they were so much easier to install than I expected, I thought they’d be a pain. What should’ve taken a couple days did however take over a week unfortunately, as I used the wrong paint on the worktop at first and wow, I made A LOT of work for myself correcting that. Real shame as the second paint I bought was a dream and looks so good! 🙌
We still have the other side of this room to sort, but I think that can wait until after Christmas now, I’m tired 🤪

I knew I wanted a media wall in this room as soon as I saw it. After being so pleased with Ben’s work in our last house, I re-booked him via the Airtasker platform and a few days later, he came to remove the wallpaper, build the media wall and paint. We’re still waiting on the blind, new flooring and radiator, but I’m so happy with how this room turned out 💞

Having recently moved house, our main living area is currently mid-makeover, therefore any visitors around Christmas will be hosted in the garden room. It’s toasty with the fire on, but the floor was freezing 🥶 so a rug was a must! The handbraided jute felt perfect for this room, and I LOVE the scallop trim!

Ad. I re-booked Ben from because I was so happy with the work he did in our last house. I asked him to turn the tiniest room in our new house into a little tv snug for winter 💖 Look at what he built! 🙌
I did make a mistake in putting my paint samples in a ‘safe place’ for the house move 😐 so safe that I still haven’t found them 🤦🏻‍♀️ This is not the snuggly colour I’d had in mind for this room! 🙈 The media wall turned out better than I’d expected though, so big thanks to Ben & Airtasker for helping make our new house into a home! 🥰

Ad. The end of an era 🥲 I still don’t know how to feel about it, but what I do know, is that we couldn’t have done this move without 🚚📦
I cried the whole morning 🥲 I’ve moved house 17 times, but I’ve never felt like this leaving a home 💔 We completely transformed this house and garden and our beautiful cats are buried here, so it was a very difficult decision leaving them, I feel like I left a piece of my heart here 😔
There was quite a chain involved so we didn’t know when we were going to be moving, but with AnyVan’s help, we could pretty much leave plans til the last minute, as they came to pack EVERYTHING on the morning of our move with only 48 hours notice 🙌🏼 If you’re moving home, I can’t recommend AnyVan enough and you can get a £25 discount via the link in my stories 🫶🏼
AnyVan came early in the morning to start packing, they even dismantled the bed and reassembled it in the new place. The support and service these guys gave us was absolutely second to none! Ad. Colour, pattern, and a hint of whimsy make a house a home in my opinion, so it’s no wonder I love everything 💕🎀🌸
I wish you could feel the quality of the Tiny Town Mallow ottoman, it’s stunning and pairs so beautifully with the Pink Diamond Rug. I genuinely gasped when I saw the Biggles the dog lamp online 😂 I can never resist an animal ceramic or a quirky lamp, so when I can combine both, it’s a must-have! 🐶✨ Throw in bows, florals and a ditsy pattern and I’m in my element 💘 
I love this playful collection so much 🥹 all Cath Kidston 🫶🏼

A few new photos from around our colourful home, along with some old faves 💕🏡 I’ve included a photo of my floral Christmas tree from a few years ago at the end. Not very traditionally Christmassy but it did look cute. I was lazy with decorating the exterior of the house last year and want to make up for it this year 💫 Do you decorate outside your place? ✨
