Morning walkers 👟👟👟👟 wishing you all the best and thank you for thinking about James . Means a lot that you think of our smiling chatty man .

James journey started at the Marsden and throughout his journey he was supported by so many. We continue to support the Marsden with James box of smiles and as cheeky as it sounds if you can spare a few pennies today as you walk your way to the Marsden we can continue to put smiles on the many faces going through treatment 😊🏅🏅🏅

Flowers for a young girl going through treatment at the Marsden.
I want to share the email I received with permission.
It means so much when we receive messages like this and how James box of smiles brings a little distraction during the hardest times.💐💐💐 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐Dear Jane,
I just wanted to say an enormous thank you for the wonderful Lego botanicals set you gifted my daughter Tessa. Tessa hadn’t been into Lego for a long time, but when she relapsed in December last year she asked for a Lego set as she wanted to do something creative that wasn’t physically tiring. She started building the botanicals sets and it’s brought her so much joy. What a wonderful charity you’ve set up in memory of your son. Thank you so much, Becca (and an especially huge thank you from Tessa) x

Received this little thank you during the week .
We don’t expect thanks for what we do as it gives us great comfort knowing that a child is being distracted by James box of smiles while going through a tough time.

James box of smiles is on the Isle of Wight. A while ago we had a motorbike donation from a lovely island lady.
I’ve had this earmarked for a young boy on the Isle of Wight and so pleased I got to deliver it this week. He was over the moon.
Another “Island nipper “going through a recent diagnosis received a James box of smiles to help him distract after recent surgery. Football all the way ⚽️ for Liam .

Our first Lego donation to Great ormand st hospital 🧡 I hope the children here get lots of enjoyment from James box of smiles .

This was written by a lovely nurse who we met at the Marsden she sums it up perfectly.
Lego is more than just a toy. For children in hospital, it becomes a powerful tool — a way to escape the constant reminders of treatment, scans, and hospital life. When their world feels overwhelming, Lego offers them a safe place to play, to imagine, and to create.

Through Lego, children can push their imaginations as far as they like. This kind of play is vital for every child’s development — but it is especially precious for children battling cancer or living with long-term conditions. It helps them hold on to something that feels normal, joyful, and theirs.

The charity James Box of Smiles was inspired by an incredible young man named James. Sadly, I never had the privilege of meeting him in person, but from everything I’ve learned, I know he was someone I would have been proud to call a friend. James adored Lego. It became his escape during hospital stays and throughout his recovery at home. But more than that, he loved making other children smile. He had a huge heart, always thinking of others before himself.

Big set ready for a group build when the teens are feeling up to the challenge. As always lovely to chat with some familiar faces.

A morning making Lego memories with Momentum echoes families. Talking to parents who understand the pain of loosing a child. Sibling’s got to enjoy some time together building and creating.

Thinking about new fundraising ideas for the year ahead.

What do you think about an afternoon tea 🫖 🧁🍰??

Do we continue with our Race night or do something different. ???

As always I’m looking for different ways to fundraise and make it fun .
If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

If there’s a child/ teen you know who is going through a cancer journey or challenging time and would love a Lego set please put them in touch . We regularly donate to the Royal Marsden, Casey ward Epsom and St George’s Hospital.
