I'm featured on England Squash, fame at last! 😂

And why is this relevant to business?

Well, it's all about community and connection, because...

I have been playing squash since I was 9 years old and over the years have played for 5 different clubs across the North of England.

But squash for me isn't just about keeping fit, it's about making friends and building lasting connections through a shared interest.

Yvonne Perry is one of my best buddies and we've been playing squash every week for 27 years 😲

Jackie, who's featured in blue in the photo with me, took Baarbara 🐑 from my social media support group on the round-the-world yacht race Jackies Clipper Challenge last year.

It turns out my business buddy Roz from Beech Web Services, her partner was doing the same race and they connected in South America as a result.

I played squash with Tricia Peters in Warrington and when I launched Social Media Executive she was such a huge support introducing me to her networks and business community. We now hang out both personally and professionally.

For many years, I ran the Junior squash training Warrington Sports Club, and I've just handed it over to my business buddy Jill Maher Cheshire Connect. By chatting at a business meeting we discovered our love of squash and she's been down to support our teams and is now getting involved in the juniors.

I've had a number of clients through squash and have also managed to rope in my business buddy Angie Stewart into joining our club!

You can mix business with pleasure and that's what social media is all about.

So when I'm training you how to use Social Media and I ask what are your ideal clients' hobbies - I haven't gone loopy, this is why it's important.
