There’s something very cool about a Cinnabar moth that just jumps out at you. I was wandering around a local reserve today in hope of a Bird of Prey, but this little black n red flash caught my eye! They look almost unreal up close,, like someone’s coloured them in with a marker pen!

What I love about them is how bold they are. The Cinnabar basically shouts “I’m toxic, leave me alone” with those colours!!!

Seeing one is always a nice moment, and happy to get clean shot of one! A reminder that even the small stuff is worth stopping for.

It’s the kind of encounter that makes you slow down, look a bit harder, and realise how much is going on right under your nose.

I'm thrilled to announce a collaboration with the Trent Rivers Trust, a dedicated river conservation organisation protecting one of England's great river systems...

We're filming a multipart series following their Challenge 30, an attempt to document 30 different species across the River Trent and its tributaries in a single year by anglers taking on the challenge. You can get involved here: https://www.trentriverstrust.org/trent30/

Science led. Field based. And the results might be more alarming than anyone expects.

But that's not all. I'll also be sitting down with Dr Scott McKenzie, Head of Rivers, to talk about one of the most overlooked threats to migratory fish in the UK, and what's being done about it.
