I can now say my Son Austen is one of the cast, he was very proud to have been selected for a role after auditioning for this Cornish Short Film, through the amazing collaboration that is LAFTA. Filming took place at the beginning of Summer. Can’t wait for the preview.
Catching Rabbit has just been submitted to Cornwall Film Festival!! 🤞
Catching Rabbit is a surreal, darkly comic community film rooted in the landscape and culture of The Lizard.
Made by LAFTA against the odds on a teeny budget, the film was brought to life through a true spirit of collaboration and creative ingenuity.
Written by Tamara Rosenwyn and adapted from her award-winning play, the film follows Rabbit, an elderly Cornish man in a care home, as fragments of his life return to him.
Catching Rabbit explores ageing, madness and being haunted by the things we could not save. At its heart is a man increasingly at risk of being forgotten, set against a changing Cornwall.
It is a love letter to The Lizard, its people, its stories and a way of life held in memory.
