The use of cheques to pay for anything these days blows my mind. I haven’t had a chequebook for well over a decade but paper trails and administration makes France go round. And round. And round. And I’ve joined the merry-go-round and ordered one. Sigh.

Sharing one of the sexiest fragrances I own with y’all. Unisex Jazz Club by Maison Margiela is all heady cocktails and ci**rs in seedy 1970s Parisian jazz clubs (although the description reads Brooklyn 2013). I don’t wear it often but when I do it makes me feel like the sexiest woman in the room.

I have always wanted to go mushroom picking but you have to go with someone who knows their mushrooms! Aude is an expert so I was in safe hands. We were looking for the Yellowfoot, a type of winter chanterelle that is abundant in this forest. Bathing in the forests ethereal green glow calmed and centered me and the harvest of golden nuggets made for a delicious lunch!

Only pick mushrooms with an expert as there are many poisonous ones out there.

I was over the moon when CurlyEllie reached out and said that I made them think of what Carrie from S*x and the City would be like if she were in rural France and could they send me some products? I was thrilled to be chosen and it’s my first PR gift! If you have curly hair I thoroughly recommend these products. Today’s perfume of the day is Le Labo’s Santal 33. A memorable yet polarising, heady, woody aromatic with powdery leather notes and some of my favourite ingredients which are Iris, Orris and Violet. It’s a warm enveloping hug which was very much needed today.

I’ve made another version of the French Yogurt Cake! So many of you are invested in my kitchen culinary cultural appreciation journey and I want to make you happy! The recipe is below, did I nail it? Any feedback? What version should I try next?

Apple and Cinnamon Yogurt Cake recipe:

1 x pot plain yogurt (keep the pot)
2 x pots sugar
3 x pots flour
3 x eggs
3/4 x pot oil
2 x teaspoons baking powder
1 x pinch salt
1/2 x teaspoon cinnamon
1 x French apple (chopped)

Mix per my video and Alanya394 (On TikTok)'s instructions, put in a pre-lined loaf tin and bake at 170 (fan oven) for 35-40 minutes or until the skewer comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes in tin, transfer to a baking rack for 5 minutes. Dust with icing sugar. Enjoy!

I inadvertently upset many French people when I shared a French Yogurt Cake recipe recently. 🫣 But loads of followers over on TikTok were (ahem) kind enough to share their family’s French Yogurt Cake recipes with me in the comments. The recipes varied somewhat so I selected the most popular and got to work on a bake.

Yogurt (pot) cake recipe:

1 x pot yogurt (keep the darn pot)
2 x pots sugar
3 x pots flour
3 x eggs
1 x pot oil
1 x teaspoon vanilla extract
2 x teaspoons baking powder

Bras strung up in the street means only one thing - the annual Marche Rose. A 5 or 10km walk supporting Breast Cancer. My friend Aude and I did the 10km and loved every step. Forest bathing, chestnut scrumping, chatting sh*t and having bants with those we met along the way. A jolly good Sunday morning!
