Very Strange!
Never happened before!
As we brought in our last harvest on the night of the ‘Harvest Moon’, we didn’t think anything would be different!
But a very rare gift was offered by the dark spirit of the sea!
Was it his blessing at Whitby Abbey that turned the crystals black?

We assigned the investigative reporter at WHITBY FOGHORN MAGAZINE to get to the bottom of this mystery! Get your hands on their November edition!

A chance to reflect and relax in our favourite spot after our last harvest of 2024! 🌾

Normally around this fire we would be having a glass of wine or a Margarita cocktail, and of course a glass rimmed with Whitby Sea Salt, they’re fabulous!

However, this time we wanted a really good cup of tea and some fabulous biscuits!

We couldn’t have chosen better! Bothams Resolution Tea in one of their excellent bone china mugs, and we think the best biscuits we’ve ever tasted! 🤤

Whitby Sea Salted Caramel Shortbread biscuits developed by the fabulous Lois, the great-great-granddaughter of Botham's of Whitby Bakery founder Elizabeth Botham. We couldn’t be more proud to be included in one of Bothams' fantastic products.

🌊✨Wow! It’s been a very busy salty year so far!

🐬🐟 Not only have we been collecting our mineral-rich seawater off our wildlife-rich Jurassic coast at Whitby, often accompanied by Dolphins, Seals, and even a Humpback Whale 🐋, to create our 100% natural Whitby Sea Salt crystals using only the wind and the sun ☀️💨, just as nature intended, but we have also been developing new products and collaborations with local businesses to create their own unique offerings.

Wow! Whitby! 🌊✨

Such a fabulous place to live, work, and play! So many good things going on all year, and the harbour is full of happy, smiling people. 😊

It’s such a pleasure every time we take ‘SeaSalt’ out to collect our mineral-rich seawater from Whitby’s beautiful and wildlife-rich Jurassic coast to produce our 100% natural sea salt dried using just the wind and the sun, just as nature intended. 🌿🌞

However, on this day, we left our traditional wooden fishing Coble ‘SeaSalt’, built in 1963 (you can just see ‘her’ bottom right-hand corner on ‘her’ moorings), while we marvelled at the arrival of the Spanish Galleon ‘Andalucia’! ⛵️🇪🇸

Whitby has such a great maritime history! ⚓️📜

Imagine not that long ago, ships like this were coming and going regularly from Whitby’s harbour! 🌅

🎵 Just over a week left until the big day, and we can't contain our excitement as this year's incredible live music line-up has been revealed! 🎶

Starting from 11am on both Thursday 4th and Friday 5th July, the much-loved Made in Whitby Festival comes back to Whitby Brewery! 🎉 It's going to be a marvelous celebration of the talented makers and creators in our beloved hometown of Whitby. 🏰🌊

⚓ Whitby Fish and Ships Festival is returning on 18th and 19th May 2024! ⚓

From 10am - 11pm (Sat 18th) and 10am - 4pm (Sun 19th) come along and enjoy a fantastic celebration of the town's fishing heritage!

From cooking demonstrations by local chefs in the Seafood Kitchen to Live music and performances produced by Whitby Brewery & Made in Whitby.

We will also be hosting a stall with an array of Whitby Sea Salt products!

What a fabulous chap! 😄

We were very happy and fortunate to meet up with Paul Young at Fortune's Kippers in Whitby the fantastic chef and chocolatier. 🍽️🍫

Did you know he had ‘The best chocolate shop in the world’ while in London and he was famous for his ‘salted’ caramel chocolates. He’s now moved up to Staithes and loving it on our fabulous coast.

He loves our Whitby Sea Salt & Vinegar too! He’s making a big impression along our coast and making everyone smile. 😄🌊
