CAN ANTHONY JOSHUA OR TYSON FURY BECOME WORLD CHAMPION AGAIN?

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are both two-time heavyweight world champions, but neither currently holds a world title.

Joshua returned to action in July with a dramatic second-round stoppage of Kristian Prenga after being dropped twice in the opening round. Fury also returned to winning ways this year and remains highly placed in the heavyweight picture.

JOHN HEDGES CONTINUES TO CARRY RICKY HATTON’S MEMORY WITH HIM

John Hedges has spoken emotionally about the belief his former trainer Ricky Hatton had in his career.

Hedges linked up with Hatton in 2025 and went on to defeat Nathan Quarless to win the English cruiserweight title in their only fight together as boxer and trainer.

Speaking about Hatton’s faith in his potential, Hedges said:

“Ricky said I’d be world level in 18 months. I wish he was here to see me headlining.”

Hedges has continued his career following the loss of Hatton and now has the opportunity to keep progressing towards the level his former trainer believed he could reach.

ROY JONES JR BELIEVES JAI OPETAIA IS A MORE DANGEROUS FIGHT FOR DAVID BENAVIDEZ THAN OLEKSANDR USYK

Four-weight world champion Roy Jones Jr has given his assessment of David Benavidez’s options, arguing that a clash with Jai Opetaia presents a tougher challenge than moving up to face Oleksandr Usyk.

Jones said:

“Usyk was an easier fight for him than Opetaia is. Opetaia is younger, stronger. Opetaia is, to me, much more dangerous for David Benavidez than Usyk is.”

The comments have added further intrigue to a potential Benavidez vs Opetaia showdown, with both men operating among boxing’s elite at the heavier weights.

“I NEVER PICKED THE EASY FIGHTS!” — MANNY PACQUIAO

Manny Pacquiao made that statement during his 2025 International Boxing Hall of Fame induction, reflecting on a career built around repeatedly moving through the weight divisions and taking on elite opposition.

“I never picked the easy fights. I chose the hard ones. I moved up weight after weight, not to protect a record but to test my limits.”

Pacquiao became boxing’s only eight-division world champion, winning major fights against names including Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Juan Manuel Marquez, Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton and Keith Thurman.

Even after initially retiring in 2021, Pacquiao returned at 46 in July 2025 and fought Mario Barrios to a majority draw in a WBC welterweight title fight. Now 47, Pacquiao has continued to explore another return to the ring in 2026.

The Maverick had a fantastic win against Peter Mcgrail on the Monte Carlo Showdown, and despite some bumps in the road in terms of waiting for fights, he believes it's helped him to build his resiliency. Giving him strength. Shabaz is always ready to go- and this time he's moved up in weight.
