Ad. Genuinely THE most fascinating day I've had for ages.. Middleton and Wood Funeral Directors had an open day on Saturday.

I had so many questions, as I know everyone else did who went, and I could still go back and ask more.. it made me think of my dad, made me smile, and the one thing that I was left with was the care given and the pride everyone takes in their work. 🤍

It really was access all areas, obviously some parts couldn't be filmed, but genuinely so interesting, and reassuring in a way...please watch.. and if you have any questions of your own, let me know

Misty Monday..new routine for me..one of my friends has forced me into an early morning walk every Monday, to start the week off right ❤️

And it works...working on your own means it's a bit lonely sometimes, so ever grateful to my bossy friend 😂 and gorgeous being out in the fresh air, the countryside.. and saw loads of pheasants!

This was a Wrightington loop today.. lovely. Now back to it.. have a good day everyone x

Oh... this was a bit of an error today 😂 but reminded me! I need to chase up the people behind the carpark at Robin Park..

From the last bit of digging, it was sold to Frasers Group (Mike Ashley), but that was a few years ago now, so it could have changed again.. so got a FEW spades going now...still on with The Griffin.. got Pagefield Mill on the go.. (studied art there 89-90, so guts me to see it like it is)... and a few more.

But.. were you at Robin Park today? Think most of Wigan was 😂.

One story this week I LOVED.. Billy the cobbler in Pemberton.. stepping inside his shop was like stepping back in time.. loads of the stuff in there should be in a museum... and he is one of those real characters who've become a part of the place. A lovely man, true gent and a real skilled tradesman.

Truly gutted he's closed, like many of you, I have bags of shoes I won't take anywhere else... and there are still shoes there that he's repaired - waiting to be picked up..

Hope everyone's had a lovely weekend..this is a very quick update on the gnome hunt at Three Sisters lake in Bryn..

This month... a new ticket system has been tried out to make sure people didn't take more than one...and our wonderful gnome lady, Agnomymous says it's been a resounding success ❤️

Well done if you found a ticket and got a gnome... if you didn't, keep your eyes on her page for next month 👀

On the 16th anniversary of the passing of Wigan Warriors Terry Newton, thoughts with his family and everyone who loved him.

His daughters Charley and Millie were just 7 and 2 when their dad died... I spoke to them when Wigan Warriors unveiled the Terry Newton Memorial Garden at Robin Park.. the first time they'd spoken publicly about their dad.

How proud he'd be of his girls ❤️

Gnome hunting and the fairy village in the woods at the Three Sisters in Bryn.

Went on the monthly gnome hunt round the lake earlier, 😁 then decided to go see the fairy village too..lovely surprise today, gifts and books hanging from the trees.. if anyone knows any background to this please let me know.

The gnomes, in case you didn't know, once a month 20 are hidden, handmade by the wonderful Agnomymous, (five hours to make each one). She puts them out..free.. to encourage people to get out in the fresh air and nature. This month she hid tickets instead, to make sure people don't take more than one.

Met my friend and her kids there.. we saw six other people with tickets, and will be back tomorrow to exchange the ticket for a gnome 😁 not sure who enjoyed this afternoon more.. the kids or me 😂

Huge thank you to Middleton & Wood Funeral Directors for having me at their open day today... absolutely fascinating.

After losing my dad, who's the only person really close to me that I’ve lost, I had questions. Lots of them really. About what happens after somebody dies and the things most of us probably wonder about, but don’t really talk about.

Never thought I’d spend a Saturday afternoon chatting to an embalmer and asking some of those questions, but it was a real eye-opener and genuinely a privilege to see what happens behind the scenes.

I think the biggest thing for me was seeing just how much care is taken with somebody after they die. There were things I learned today that I had absolutely no idea about. I filmed loads, so will have a proper video for you tomorrow or Monday.

And I also want to be completely transparent and say I was paid for today, so as well as thanking them for answering all my questions, I want to thank them for supporting what’s happening in Wigan too.

That support means I can keep doing what I do. So really thank you. Most of all for all being so lovely.

Gnome hunting UPDATE 📣 tomorrow is the day!
At Three Sisters lake in Bryn, once a month, beautiful wooden gnomes are hidden in the trees, to encourage families to get out together in nature.

Handmade by a wonderful lady, known only as Agnomymous each one takes about five hours, and she does this not for money, but to see children's joy when they give the gnome a home.

All change this month though to stop people taking more than one.. people will be hunting for gnome tickets, which can be exchanged for gnomes on Sunday.

In her own words.. "There will be 20 gnome tickets going out around the Three Sisters tomorrow, Sat 26th Sept. They will not be out until late.. after 4pm. There should be plenty left for Sunday. Tickets can be redeemed for a gnome in the car park on Sunday 27th Sept, between 1pm and 5pm. And VERY IMPORTANT... only take one ticket!".

Agnomymous also says the 'feisty' gnome ladies will not redeem more than one ticket per group...so you've been warned! ❤️

The sky this evening.. if you didn't see the sunset, and the rays popping above the clouds even before it set.. you missed out. Gorgeous pink clouds too.
Didn't take any pics, was too busy gawping at Mother Nature putting on a spectacular show ❤️

Sunrise and sunset..greatest shows on earth... and free.
