🤔A General Court Martial at Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos, has sentenced Private Lukman Musa of the Nigerian Army’s 3 Division to death by hanging for the murder of a tricycle rider, Abdulrahman Isa, in Bauchi State.

The court, led by Brigadier General Liafis Bello, found Musa guilty of luring Isa to his residence with an accomplice, striking him on the head, strangling him, and dumping his body in a sack between Shira and Yala villages before selling his tricycle.

Musa was also convicted of unlawful possession of 34 rounds of ammunition. Bello condemned his actions as barbaric, a betrayal of the Army’s duty to protect citizens, and a disgrace to the military.

In addition to the death sentence for culpable homicide, Musa received two years’ imprisonment for the ammunition offense and was dismissed from the Army. The judgment, according to Major Aminu Mairuwa, demonstrates the Army’s commitment to discipline and justice.
