They are the odds for a golfer making two holes-in-one during the same competitive round - sadly Gavin Bourne didn't have a little flutter on himself before his Club Championship Match Play Final at Droitwich Golf Club, Worcestershire, on Sunday.

A 0.4 handicap golfer Gavin aced out on the 3rd and 15th holes on his way to winning the title over 36 holes.

These are his 4th and 5th hole-in-one scores, the last being over a decade ago!

Amazing scoring and achievement - congratulations!

For a bit of fun we have created a ChatGPT agent to predict the Ryder Cup outcomes! First up we loaded up the latest data on Ryder Records, player data, historical data, Team Captain analysis and Bethpage Black course details for both teams.

First question was, based on all the data, to predict the European pairings for the Friday foursomes - and this is what came back with reason behind the selections.

Not bad the order is out but the pairings are pretty good with 7 out of 8 players correct and only one pairing wrong with Rose and Fitzy rather the Ludwig and Fitzpatrick.

Next we will load up the actual pairiings to predict the results and score after the first set of Foursomes!

Rory McIlroy / Tommy Fleetwood (Right Pair/Wrong Place)
Why: McIlroy has an excellent foursomes history and thrives in partnerships; Fleetwood’s temperament and precision complements Rory’s aggressiveness. Alternate-shot suits McIlroy’s excellent tee-to-green play and Fleetwood’s calm ex*****on.

Jon Rahm / Tyrrell Hatton (Right Pair/Wrong Place)

I.O.G.O. Ryder Cup Specials 🇪🇺🇺🇸🥱

By yesterday build-up to the Ryder Cup is starting to wane a little - and frankly without much to talk about due to the carefully managed PR from both teams - a little boring!

BORED BY THE RYDER CUP???!!!!!

But with all the podcasts, socials & TV coverage even as huge golf fans, it was all starting to get a bit repetitive.

There's only so much pre-Cup analysis and insights from talented experienced commentators like Brandel Chamblee and Paul McGinley even the most enthusiastic golf fanatic can take!

However, today has started with a genuine feeling of excitment and aniticpation for what is to come over the next few days.

It has really kicked in, even Nick Faldo is building it up to be one of the closest Ryder Cups in a long time!

So, thankfully we can report, we are definitely not bored of the greatest golf show on earth. and today we are soaking it all up!

We'll be there tuning in for the pairings announcements later wrapped in the blue and yellow European flag - and again for the opening tee shots tomorrow whether listening on the radio or watching live on TV - it's shaping up to be a great weekend!

Anyone else started to get the same feeling or are you still in the overkill phase?!

More used to scoring goals than birdies football legend Gianfranco Zola has been drafted into Luke Donald's backroom staff to whizz vice-captain Molinari around Bethpage during the Ryder Cup!

#2 Matt Fitzpatrick could be the weakest link in the European Team!

OUR VIEW...
To be clear we are 100% behind Team Europe and believe this team can be the ones to give us that elusive away win AND we are big Matt Fitzpatrick fans.

We root for him in most of the major PGA Tour events - and have backed him several times in Majors (apart from the one he won!).

However, we have to face up to it and unfortunately, despite his famous on-course note taking, Fitzpatrick's Ryder Cup record is not great, which is both a concern and a surprise given his individual player rankings in recent years.

But with 1 win and 7 losses across his three Ryder Cup appearances that's a win rate of just 12.5%. With only 1 point in total, which came in the fourballs at Marco Simone, his team format performance is a concern and something the US fans could target.

THE CASE FOR ALEX NOREN
On form Alex Noren may have been a better option for Luke Donald had he qualified. Noren has a Ryder Cup win rate of 66% but admittedly has only played on one team in 2018.

But with two big wins at the British Masters & BMW in the last month he seems wasted in his 2025 role as a Vice-Captain.

HOLDING RORY BACK?
Will Fitzpatrick play much across the two opening days? In the past he has partnered Rory which on paper looks a solid pairing. But Rory seems better matched with either Tommy Fleetwood or Shane Lowry both of whom he has a better record and if we are goign to win we need Rory to maximise his points return.

In fairness "Fitzy" has been on good form himself in the run up to the Ryder Cup so let's hope he can bring that streak into this week and prove us wrong.

Sad news about Dickie Bird. But what an innings by one of the all-time stars of cricket of the golden age of Test cricket in the 80's.

Growing up Dickie was one of the instant recognisable characters of cricket that made the sport so special.

Most of our memories of Test cricket as kids involved him, his quirks and stories.

The Alan Lamb mobile phone Test Match story is one of the best and always brings a laugh!

Hadn't realised as well as a world-class umpire he'd played 93 first-class matches and scored two centuries!

All the kind words and tributes today from all over and beyond the sporting world show how well respected he was and his stature in the game.
