There’s a case still open…🔎👀 Judge Jessica is on it💁🏼‍♀️

We are all aware about the skills shortage in trades and how much the industry needs more tradespeople.

But are we doing enough to support the people trying to get into the trades? From finding apprenticeships to mentoring, training and support once you’re in! Some of us are super lucky and the majority aren’t! 👩🏼‍🔧

It’s super important we voice the issues and I’ve had my say through Plumb Centre’s Gen T survey — who are really trying to highlight the issues this industry is facing! Please go and have your say! 🙏🏻

Let’s set this wood on fire 🔥 this is the moment my wood started looking like an actual piece of art 👀

Torching the wood, brushing back the char, getting the oil on and finally hanging the finished 3D piece.

There’s something seriously satisfying about seeing all those layers and textures come to life. I’m super proud of the effort and time I put into this one…and happy to see it on the wall 😍 I think some additional pieces are required either side!

I have been making more things…with wood 🪵 AGAIN! I might be getting good at this carpentry thing 👀😂

Seriously, I love love love trying new skills! And I got to use a variety of big machines and make something for the house that’s unique! The hot side in step two is going Japanese! 😍 which I adore…you’re going to want to see this outcome!

I of course used my trust 8880 pencil which lived rent free in my back pocket ALWAYS!

Anyway…do you know what technique I’m having a go at next? And yes…it is a bit plumbing related as I’m using a blow torch 🔥 👀

Should I stick to plumbing?! 🤣 seriously though…how do you do those corners?😂 I genuinely spent ages trying to get my brush all up in there and it just got messy!👀

I love trying new trades and gaining a massive appreciation for the skills involved 💁🏼‍♀️ anyone can pick up a paint brush yes…but to do a really good job, in a timely manner definitely takes skill🎨

PaintingJess doesn’t have the same vibe as plumbingjess 💁🏼‍♀️😂

Jess vs 4 giant radiators 💁🏼‍♀️💪🏻 This was definitely a workout kind of job…no gym session required 🤣

The task was to remove all 4 radiators allowing the customer to decorate before we install some nicer, more appropriately sized radiators! Size is not everything 🤣 and these were definitely oversized! No one wants a sauna for a bedroom 🥵

If only there was a bigger wet vac in my van for jobs like this 😆 The mats I cannot recommend enough! So much quicker to put down and pick up compared to runner dust sheets! 🤩

I’m excited to see the final finish - stay with me for the next bit 😌

Play hard…work hard…train hard 💁🏼‍♀️

Hello August! 🤩 Time to keep going because this is a month of changes…I have made some big moves to give myself more time doing my own work, training, learning and taking a bit of my weekends back allowing me to make a bit more content too😍 always a bonus as it’s something I love! 👩🏼‍🔧

Who else thinks a purple MS-RT is right up my street? 👀🤷🏼‍♀️ I was going for double decker chocolate vibes at Super Trowel ® 😌 with Simon Bowler and Scott Baggaley and I must say…my first time there…I freaking loved it! ☀️ Then a bit of my work…utilising the steel toes to balance on the wall…climbing techniques always comes in useful! 😏

With this time, I’m finally getting myself back into a training routine at David Lloyd Harrogate and my goodness how I’ve missed it; along with spending some time pampering myself and you guessed it…working some more.

The next few weeks will see me learning more on air source and unvented cylinders as I begin learning the service and breakdown side to this! Super exciting to venture into renewables 🙌🏼💁🏼‍♀️

One-handed operation sounds like a bit of me 💁🏼‍♀️👀😇

This is the new Edding Retract 11 marker pen! Now if you were skeptical like me…I can assure you Edding have cleverly thought out how to protect the end from drying out with what I can only describe as a little eyelid cover! 👀😂

I was using this up a ladder today and that was when I realised exactly just how handy it was not having to faff with lids! 3 points of contact and that 👀🪜

Who wants to try one of these bad boys!? 🙌🏼 in the comments 👌🏻 what do you think? Improvement on the classic marker?

I think I need all the colours now 👀💁🏼‍♀️

Would you spend £40 on this basin? 💁🏼‍♀️👀

This en-suite isn’t used very much but it’s nice to give it a more modern feel for when guests use it…so enter the matte black fittings. 🖤 New taps and new plug 🙌🏼

Stumbled across a hurdle on the way😬👀 half way through we found the waste mushroom plug mechanism had got stuck! After pulling it to bits and doing a bit of filing on the components…it was working well again! I have never taken a basin waste apart before but I actually really enjoyed it 👩‍🔧🤣

What are your thoughts?! Black modern or the original chrome?
