Lidl Plus Points: better deal or sneaky downgrade?

I love a loyalty scheme as much as the next person. But I also like knowing whether I’m actually saving money, or just being trained to open another app before I buy milk.

The new Lidl Plus Points setup does have some wins.
You earn on every shop.
Points last longer.
You can swap them for rewards.
Extra Points offers might be decent.

But here’s the catch.
If the best value depends on checking the app, activating offers, choosing the “right” reward, and not accidentally spending more to earn points, then it starts feeling less like a reward and more like supermarket homework.

My take?
Use it if you already shop at Lidl.
Scan the app.
Take the wins.
Do not chase the points.
Worth using? Yes.
Worth changing your trolley for? No.

Period pants can be brilliant, but only if you buy the right ones for your actual flow, body and budget.

I compared 5 UK period underwear brands: WUKA, Modibodi, M&S, Cheeky Wipes and Fluxies.

Best overall: WUKA
Best budget: M&S
Best heavy-flow options: WUKA and Modibodi
Best low-cost specialist brand: Cheeky Wipes
Best everyday feel: Fluxies

My advice: don’t buy a full drawer straight away.
Start with 2 heavy-flow pairs, 2 everyday pairs and 1 budget multipack. Test them at home before trusting them on a long day out.

Don’t waste money on the wrong cooling fix.

I’ve broken down the real options for keeping a bedroom cool, from proper split air conditioning to portable units, fans, and the “air coolers” that often sound better than they perform.

My honest take:
If you own your home and hot nights wreck your sleep, a small split air-con unit is the best long-term option.
If you need something cheaper or temporary, a portable unit can work well for heatwaves, especially if you pre-cool the room before bed.

If the budget is tight, start with a decent fan, blackout blinds, and keeping the sun out during the day.
Just don’t confuse an air cooler with real air conditioning. They are not the same thing.

Save this for the next heatwave.
