The second issue of High Wycombe Life magazine is all printed and ready to be sent out from Monday 14th October. It'll take two weeks for Royal Mail to deliver to all 34,000 homes in HP11, HP12 and HP13.

Please look out for it landing on your doorstep. It didn't reach every home when the first issue went out in mid June, so please say to your postman (or lady!) that you're expecting it. Just in case they forget your house!

And feel free to follow on Instagram .co.uk. Hope you enjoy it and find it interesting. It's by the community, for the community. Sponsored by High Wycombe Community Board and local companies and others. Printed on responsibly sourced paper that's fully recyclable, using vegetable inks.

The countdown has begun - High Wycombe Life magazine is a free magazine that will be delivered to all households in HP11, HP12 and HP13 in a few weeks' time. It's a community project, designed to show our town off in the best light, demonstrating its unique Creativity and Opportunity and lots more. If you want to get involved, email [email protected]. Deliveries will start in mid June, and will take a few weeks for all households. At last, a completely uplifting and positive view of our incredible town!

Last night we had our magazine's Launch Party in the centre of town! The pizza (yes, that's the plural of pizza!) were amazing at . Our socialiser at large, Mike About Town, says the pizza here are the best he's ever had, and I believe he knows what he's talking about!

The most beautiful pull-up banner was donated by - so generous, and just because owner Darren heard me explain what we're trying to achieve, and he immediately wanted to be part of the action!

And, while we had craft beer and pizza, we listened to Richard Mason making the point that we urgently need more film studio space in this country or the film makers will migrate to France and Australia, who are heavily investing in building studios. Such an inspiring case for the much hoped-for approval next week for Marlow Film Studios.

All in all, a very happy celebration of and in this, our gloriously historic, multicultural, idiosyncratic, flawed, beautiful, inclusive, productive, entrepreneurial, funky, generous and COOL home, ! 😍

The first proof is in! My amazing publisher has sent me the first proof of the first issue of my first ever magazine, and it's looking great! I think you'll find it packed (too packed?) with information and entertaining snippets about High Wycombe.

I now have a few days to read it very, very carefully and to suggest any edits we think it needs. It's really been a labour of love, and we're nearly there. It goes to print on 31st May, which is kind of scary. I suddenly feel apprehensive about 35,000 homes having this publication, my brainchild, delivered through their letterbox and being subjected to judgement and scrutiny. Yikes!

Please be kind with any emails or other messages you send with feedback. The team and I are all volunteers and have done our best to get it right.

Above all, we want everyone to love our town a little bit more after reading it. See what you think. First deliveries to homes from 17th June. Every household in HP11, HP12 and HP13 should get one.

This painting of the Little Market House aka The Pepperpot was painted by my friend, highly esteemed conservation architect and High Wycombe expert and superfan, Tony Mealing. He's something of a genius!

So, here's the first mock up of our new magazine! Beautiful and glossy to celebrate our historic but vibrant town. The paper comes from responsibly managed forests and is printed with vegetable based inks. It's fully biodegradable as well, so read it, keep it, and eventually it will mulch down nicely!

Thanks to our sponsors for enabling it to happen - more news on that soon.

So much to say about what will be featured, packed with all the good stuff about

High Wycombe has a vibrant Film and TV community! A few weeks ago I asked on Facebook for people to let me know if they work in this industry and live in our town. Within 24 hours, I'd had 120 responses! Not all of them lived here in High Wycombe, and so they couldn't join our exclusive club (a shame; they'll just have to move here) but we have a healthy collective of Film and TV professionals and we'll be having regular get togethers to share experiences, contacts and news of what's going on in this vibrant and successful UK industry.

Did you know that 8% of all films made globally each year are made in Buckinghamshire? That's more blockbusters than in Hollywood!

One of our Creativity pages in the magazine covers this area. Fascinating stuff. Especially for fans of Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet. I'll leave that cliffhanger for you to ponder for a few more weeks!

This photo was taken by aka Neil Marshment Photography at the launch of the wonderful Fisheye Film Festival in April. Well done to Mariko Francombe and all at .

This also acted as our first meeting for the new High Wycombe Film and TV collective, and was generously sponsored by .film.studios, who hope to gain planning consent at an all important council meeting later this month.

Tada! Here's our first cover - coming through your letterbox in just a few weeks now!

Stunning image by again. Thanks again to Ed, who has encouraged me on this project.

I'm busy submitting final copy and images to Michelle at the publisher , who will work her magic to make our magazine look beautiful.

I still can't really believe this is happening. It's been over two years of planning, and so many conversations with sponsors, writers, photographers, and my lovely proof reader, Pauline! Thanks so much to High Wycombe Community Board, whose seed-funding has made a transformational difference.

If anyone out there has a dream of making a difference, I suggest they get on with it. This has been terrifying at times, but mainly one of the most exhilarating and exciting rides of my life!

Right, this is the proper Facebook launch! I made a Facebook Profile a couple of weeks ago when I should have made a page. Doh! Ah well, I'm only human...

Anyway, welcome to what will hopefully be a interesting feed of the process of launching this new community magazine, designed to boost economic activity here in High Wycombe by showing countless examples of the really cool stuff that happens here. Come and visit, have a coffee at Django's or a craft beer at Mad Squirrel, or take in some live jazz at Front Room cafe.
