Honouring Excellence: The 2025 Gurpurab Community Awards
CONTRIBUTION TO MEDIA AND PUBLISHING - KHALIS HOUSE PUBLISHING
We are proud to recognise the recipient of this award for their exceptional contribution to Sikh media, literature, and cultural preservation in the UK and beyond.
Founded in 2020, Khalis House Publishing has quickly established itself as a pioneering, independent, not-for-profit publisher dedicated to amplifying Sikh and Panjabi voices.
Through their commitment to high-quality publications, bilingual books, and educational resources, they have provided a vital platform for both established and emerging writers to share stories that celebrate Sikh history, identity, and heritage.
In just a few short years, Khalis House has demonstrated vision and leadership in reviving Sikh literary culture, investing in in-house printing, championing young authors, and producing works that engage audiences across generations.
Their publications and media projects have become invaluable tools in strengthening Sikh awareness, representation, and pride within British society.
Their name - Khalis, meaning “pure” or “independent” - reflects both their ethos and their service: independent in mission, pure in intent, and deeply rooted in the Sikh spirit of seva (selfless service) and sat (truth).
For their tireless dedication to publishing, literature and the preservation of Sikh heritage, we were honoured to present this award to Khalis House Publishing, a true embodiment of creative excellence and community service.
