Post-COVID Lessons from the Baltic States: When Growth Rejects Responsible Gambling

New data from the National Gambling and Gaming Business Association (NGGBA) reveals a harsh reality: as online gambling revenue in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia skyrocketed after Covid, so did self-exclusion requests — especially among online players.

📈 In Lithuania alone, online GGR jumped from €40M in 2019 to €170M in 2024, while self-exclusion cases tripled.

⚠️ When given a choice, players overwhelmingly move toward high-risk “unlimited” services, leaving safer options with just 2% market share.
