On March 7, 2025 in Florida, an officer pulled over a vehicle suspected of having a counterfeit license plate. The plate was also partially obscured by a tinted cover. When the officer approached the vehicle, he could see that the plate read "US DOT Private Property" in the center and "Not For Commerce, Transport or Hire" at the bottom. On December 22, 2023 in Florida, an officer located the vehicle that had just fled from his traffic stop. The vehicle had been speeding (approximately 50MPH in a posted 25MPH zone) and appeared to have very dark tint on the windows. When the officer activated his lights and siren, the vehicle began to flee. The officer deactivated his lights and siren and issued a BOLO to surrounding units as the vehicle continued to flee at a high rate of speed (approximately 70MPH in the same 25MPH zone). The officer maintained visual on the vehicle as it pulled into a parking lot. When he caught up, he exited his patrol car and approached the driver. On July 23, 2025 in Florida, an officer responded to a call of a potentially impaired driver. The caller was another driver and stated that she observed the vehicle, a black van, driving all over the road, speeding, and almost hitting other motorists. At one point, the van stopped, so the caller spoke to the driver and reported that the woman was barely able to talk. The caller continued to follow the vehicle, providing dispatch with updates on the vehicle's course of travel, until an officer arrived in the area. He was stationary in the driveway of a church, working a grant for the Florida Department of Transportation, when the suspect vehicle passed by at a speed indicated on his radar as 57MPH in a 45MPH zone. When he pulled the vehicle over and made contact with the driver, he explained the reason for the stop, but the driver was confrontational and aggressive.
