War photography

პროექტი Re-Source Ukraine-ის ფარგლებში, Fabrika Tbilisi და Magnolia Film Lab ომის ფოტოგრაფიის გამოფენას გორის შემდეგ, თბილისში, ფაბრიკას საგამოფენო დარბაზში უმასპინძლა.

გამოფენაზე წარმოდგენილია, როგორც კონცეპტუალური პროექტები ისე დოკუმენტური ფოტო მასალები, რომლებიც სხვა და სხვა დროს, სხვა და სხვა ფოტოგრაფის მიერაა გადაღებული და ასახავს რუსეთ - საქართველოს 2008 წლის და რუსეთ - უკრაინის მიმდინარე ომის რეალობას. მონაწილეობა მიიღო 7მა უკრაინელმა და 5მა ქართველმა ფოტოგრაფმა.

Re-Source Ukraine მიზნად ისახავს უკრაინელი ხელოვანების მხარდაჭერას, რომლებმაც საკუთარი ქვეყანა არსებული ვითარების გამო დატოვეს და საცხოვრებლად ევროპის სხვადასხვა ქვეყანას შეაფარეს თავი. Საქართველოს გარდა, სხვა ექვსი მეზობელი ქვეყანაც იღებს მონაწილეობას (პოლონეთი, სლოვაკეთი, ლატვია, ჩეხეთი, რუმინეთი, მოლდოვა), რომლებთან ერთადაც ფაბრიკა სხვადასხვა ღონისძიებებს 2023 წლის განმავლობაში უმასპინძლებს.

Fabrika Tbilisi and Magnolia Film Lab bring the War Photography exhibition within Re-Source Ukraine Project from Gori to Tbilisi.

The exhibition presents conceptual projects and documentary photo materials, which were taken at different times and by different photographers, which reflects the reality of the 2008 Russia - Georgia war and the ongoing Russia - Ukraine war. In the exhibition participated 7 Ukrainian and 5 Georgian photographers.

The Re-Source Ukraine project aims to support Ukrainian artists and creators who left their own country due to the current situation and moved to other European countries. Together with six other participant countries, Fabrika will host various events throughout the year.

ჩვენი ორგანიზაცია, რომელიც თანამედროვე ხელოვნების მედია პლათფორმას წარმოადგენს 2017 წლიდან, გაზეთის ბეჭდვასთან ერთად არა ერთი კულტურული ღონისძიება ჩაგვიტარებია: გამოფენები, ელექტრონული მუსიკის თუ ექსპერიმენტული საღამოები, ლექციები.. არაერთი ღონისძიება თუ ამბავი გაგვიშუქებია და კიდევაც გავაშუქებთ, არასდროს ვყოფილვართ გარე თუ შიდა დაფინანსებაზე დამოკიდებული.

ამ პერიოდის განმავლობაში ბევრჯერ გვიცეკვია და ბევრჯერ გვიომია ერთად, ბევრჯერ ვმდგარვართ სიტყვის თავისუფლების სადარაჯოზე.. და ახლაც, როცა ჩვენს მომავალს საფრთხე ემუქრება, ახლა როცა რუსული კანონების დაკანონებას ცდილობენ და ევროკავშირის ნაცვლად ესენგასა თუ საბჭოთა რეჟიმისკენ მიგვაქანებენ, ისევ ვიომებთ და ისევ ხელოვნების სადარაჯოზე ვრჩებით, მაგრამ ხელოვნება უკან
მოგვრჩება და ხმაც არ გვექნება ამოსაღები თუ ამ ომს წავაგებთ!!!

გამჭვირვალეობის იდეით შენიღბული კანონი მოსპობს და აგენტებად შერაცხავს კრიტიკულად განწყობილ საზოგადოებას, NGO -ებს, მედიას, კვლევით ცენტრებს, დამოუკიდებელ კულტურულ ორგანიზაციებს თუ სხვას თუ სხვას… ამის მერე რა ხელოვნებაზე უნდა ვისაუბროთ ან როგორ უნდა ვისაუბროთ?

არა რუსულ კანონს! არა ბნელ მომავალს! არა რეპრესირებულ და დაცენზურებულ რეჟიმს!

ხელოვნება ცოცხალი და დამოუკიდებელია! ვინც ასე არ ფიქრობთ შეგიძლიათ პატრულში გადარეკოთ)))

ფლამინგოს გუნდი უპირობო მხარდაჭერას უცხადებს ხელოვან სანდრო სულაბერიძეს და ვიმედოვნებთ მის თავისუფლებას საფრთხე არ შეეხება. მასზე დაწყებულია სამართალწარმოება 177ე მუხლის მე2 ნაწ. ა ქვე ქვეპუნქტით ანუ ქურდობა.
მას ედავებიან გამოფენიდან საკუთარი ნამუშევრის ჩამოხსნას უნებართვოდ და მის ადგილზე საღებავით დატოვებულ მესიჯზე
“ხელოვნება ცოცხალი და თავისუფალია”.

შეგახსენებთ, რომ ჯგუფური გამოფენა სახელწოდებით “ავტოპორტრეტი სარკესთან” 4 თებერვალს დიმიტრი შევარდნაძის სახელობის ეროვნულ მუზეუმში, “კულტურის ცენტრ” ათინათის ეგიდიდ გაიმართა, ქეთევან შავგულიძის კურატორობით. ხელოვანმა სანდრო სულაბერიძემ ბოლო მომენტში გადაიფიქრა მონაწილეობის მიღება და თავისი ნამუშევარი ჩამოხსნა, ხოლო მის ნაცვლად ზემოთ ხსენებული წარწერა დატოვა. ინსტიტუციის კრიტიკად ჩავთვლით, ხელოვანის პერფორმანსად თუ აქციად ეს თქვენ განსაზღვრეთ, ხოლო ფაქტები გვიჩვენებს, რომ ცენზურის ამოქმედებასთან გვაქვს საქმე.

გეტყვით, რომ გამოფენა თავის თავში მოიაზრებდა:

ავტოპორტრეტი, როგორც ერთგვარი შუამავალი ხელოვნება, ხილულისა და სიმბოლურის, ცნობიერისა და პერსონალური/ტრანსპერსონალური არაცნობიერის ზღვარზე არსებობს. საკუთარი თავის წარდგენის პირობებში ის მე-ზე, როგორც სუბიექტ-ობიექტზე და თანადროულ კულტურულ ფენომენებზე დაკვირვებას გვთავაზობს. ის მოიცავს ერთდროულად, როგორც რეფლექსიას სხვადასხვა გამოცდილებებში მყოფ შემოქმედზე, ასევე მასში დაბუდებულ უცხოზე, „სხვაზე“, თუ მოუხელთებელ „სხვებზე“.

აი ასეთ შინაარს ატარებდა გამოფენა და ასეთი დაგვირგვინება ქონდა მას.

ჩვენმა გუნდმა გამოკითხა თვითმხილველები და უბრალოდ სამწუხარო ფაქტად მიგვაჩნია, რომ ნაცვლად იმისა, რომ არტისტი დაეცვათ მათ ვინც თავიანთ თავებს კულტურის სფეროს ნაწილად თვლიან, ადგნენ და უბრალოდ პატრულში გადარეკეს :)))

ხელოვანს მხარდაჭერას უცხადებენ გამოფენაში მონაწილე ხელოვანები, გალერეები, არტისტები და ყველა ვისაც საღი აზრის მოსმენის არ ეშინია და ცდილობს ხელოვნება დატოვოს ცოცხლად და დამოუკიდებლად! აღსანიშნავია, რომ თავად “კულტურის ცენტრი” ათინათი ჯერ-ჯერობით დუმს.

ღია სივრცე/Open Space წარმოგიდგენთ ახალ მუსიკალურ სპექტაკლს “სათბური”.
სპექტაკლი 5 ქალი არტისტის ერთობლივი, მულტიმედიური ნამუშევარია, რომელიც დოკუმენტურ მასალებზე დაყრდნობით, რეჟისორის და დრამატურგის გარეშე შეიქმნა.
Მოპოვებული ინტერვიუებისა და სხვა ტიპის დოკუმენტური მასალების გამოყენებით მუსიკოსმა, მსახიობებმა, მოდის დიზაინერმა და ვიდეოარტისტმა მულტიმედიური სპექტაკლი შექმნეს.

Open Space presents new musical play “Greenhouse”
Musical play “Greenhouse” is a joint multimedia work of 5 female artists, created on the basis of documentary research and interviews, without director and playwrighter.
Using the interviews and other types of documentary research, a musician, actors, a designer and a video artist created a multimedia performance.

Georgian ceramicist Gvantsa panchulidze

გვანცა ფანჩულიძემ კერამიკაზე მუშაობა ჯერ კიდევ 5 წლის წინ ინდოეთიდან დაბრუნების შემდეგ დაიწყო. ამჟამად გვანცა უსახელოსნო კერამიკოსია და ინდივიდუალურ შეკვეთებზე მუშაობს. მისი ნამუშევრები სიჭრელით არის გამორჩეული, როგორც თავად ამბობს მისი ხასიათივით ფერადია.

Gvantsa panchulidze started working on ceramics 5 years ago after returning from India. Currently, Gvantsa is a self-employed ceramicist and works on individual orders. As she says her works are different from other ceramists with colors, they are as colorful as her mood.

ანო ჯიშკარიანმა და თიკა შელიამ ინტერიერის დიზაინ სტუდიო Around the studio პანდემიის დროს ორი წლის წინ შექმნეს.მათი ყველა ნამუშევარი უნიკალური და ერთმანეთისგან სრულიად განსხვავებულია. მათ მიერ შექმნილი ავეჯის უმრავლესობა საქართველოში წარმოებული თექით არის შექმნილი.ინსპირაციის წყარო ქუჩაში ნაპოვნი სკამები და ავეჯი ხდება.მეგობრებმა ორი წლის განმავლობაში ავეჯის რამდენიმე სერია უკვე წარმოადგინეს გამოფენაზე, ამჯერად მათი ნამუშევრები ევანგელურ-ბაპტისტურ ეკლესიაში იყო წარმოდგენილი.დიზაინის სტუდიის ინიციატივით, ეკლესიის ინტერიერში მოთავსებული ინსტალაცია ქმნიდა კაფეს სახელწოდებით „ირისი“-ს,რომელიც კოლექტიურად ორგანიზებული შეხვედრების სერიას მასპინძლობდა. ანო ჯიშკარიანისა და თიკა შელიას მიერ დაფუძნებული სტუდია აგრძელებს სახასიათო ინტერდისციპლინარული მიდგომით მუშაობს, სადაც ადგილობრივი სივრცე და აქ წარმართული ყოველდღიური პროცესები მათი პროექტების განუყოფელი იერსახეა.

Ano Jishkariani and Tika Shelia created an interior design studio “Around the studio” during the pandemic period two years ago. All their works are unique and completely different from each other. Most of the furniture created by them is made of felt produced in Georgia. The source of inspiration is the chairs and furniture found on the street. The friends have already presented several series of furniture at the exhibition, this time their works were presented in the Evangelical-Baptist Church.At the initiative of the design studio, the installation was introduced as Café IRIS which was placed in the interior of the church.The studio continues to work with its habitual interdisciplinary approach, where the daily processes of the local environment are integral aspects of their projects.

Flamin Who - Levau Shvelidze (part 2)

In the previous publication, we started to introduce you to the designer Levau Shvelidze, and today we would like to tell you more about the context and sources of inspiration for our hero.

“Concept-wise, this collection is a bit of a continuation of the previous ones. The concepts of my collections are usually the reflections of eclectic events happening around me, in my community, and among my friends. In addition, get great inspiration from movies, tv-series, fashion magazines, and the like. Other than conceptual sketches, I also keep up with and take into consideration current fashion trends.
For example, this collection ranges over metaverse, millennials and Gen Z, LGBTQ+ icons, 3D artists, sexual fetishes, modern electro/pop culture, computer games, gothic novels and architecture, neo futurism, eco brutalism, animes, such as Evangelion and Cowboy Bibop, and even some phobias. These inspirations determined the techniques, cut-outs, shapes, and colors used in the collection. What differentiates this collection from my other collections is that recently, I've started painting in Procreate, and as a result, all the prints that I've used are created by me”

Flamin Who - Levau Shvelidze (part 1)

Today we are happy to present a newcomer Georgian designer Levau Shvelidze, who is working in fashion industry using principles of sustainable fashion and eco ethics. Here is what he told us about his work.

“This unisex collection "ECO HORROR" is created to support the LGBTQ+ community and sustainable fashion. It worries me immensely that the fashion industry is the second-largest polluter in the world. Thus, I'm trying my utmost to maintain my brand fully sustainable and ethical. I named this collection "ECO HORROR" because I feel like even the term "eco-friendly" has become a great source of consumer manipulation for marketing communicators and it has become just another brick in the great wall of global environmental issues.
The set design of this collection is made by me. I was working on it for three weeks. Each material used in it is biodegradable. As for the collection itself, it is made out of recycled materials retrieved from second-hand clothing stores. I also upcycled deadstock fabrics that two prominent Georgian designers Lado Bokuchava and Aleksandre Akhalkatsishvili, gave me for free”

What factors determine the price of an artwork? How do I price my work based on these factors? What are the risks of price speculation?

Yesterday a contemporary art fair opened in Tbilisi, in which many young and independent artists take part along with galleries. We think this is a great opportunity to talk about pricing in the art market and how to properly evaluate your work.

Please note that the mechanisms described in this publication are applicable to the international art market. Usually in small countries the system functions differently, but sometimes this is precisely what prevents it from developing in the right direction.

We are convinced that artists, gallery owners and collectors together can not only support the art market in Georgia, but also bring it to a qualitatively new level.

The video contains a part of the sound installation made of field recordings and noises. Here is the fragment from Fedora's interview about the sound:

"When we discussed the idea of composition with Guga Kvelashvili, multimedia artist from Flamingo Tbilisi community, we thought about how not only to show the silence itself but it’s fragility, because this silence can be broken at any moment. In addition, the exposition pattern refers to war graves, and the cemetery has this sound of silence. As a result, it is a composition that consists partly of a mosaic of natural sounds, reminiscent of something beautiful, but gone, and, of course, contains a hum in which the voices of departed people, explosions, and crying seem to merge into one chimera"
