Waddell Announces Streaming Return for Spring Fling — Says He’s “Ready to Over Promise and Underdeliver”
After a lengthy absence from iRacing livestreaming, “Top Dirt iRacer” Nathan Waddell is officially returning to the virtual cockpit for one more shot at glory — the 18th Annual Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Fling presented by VLR.
Waddell, known equally for his car control and chaotic streams, confirmed the news Tuesday with a bold headline in the Dirt Track Weekly and a statement to fans on social media.
“This isn’t a full return, but I figured if there’s ever a time to come back, it’s for the Spring Fling,” Waddell said. “It’s the biggest iRacing dirt oval race of the year, and I want people to be there for the highs, the lows, and the very real possibility of me breaking another keyboard.”
Asked about his chances of finally breaking through to make the main event, Waddell was candid.
“Every year I get a little closer. At this rate, I should make the main sometime around 2032.”
Chris Ferguson, Waddell’s team owner and current morale manager, issued a short but pointed comment on Waddell’s chances:
“We’ve got the car ready, the setup dialed, and the excuses already printed. He’ll be fine.”
The 18th Annual Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Fling presented by VLR is likely set to take place next month. Waddell’s stream will be live on YouTube and Twitch. A full schedule and car reveal are expected soon.
