Who is the founder of Volta Region Ghana?
The Volta Region in Ghana was not founded by a single person. The region has a rich and complex history, with various ethnic groups and kingdoms existing in the area for centuries.
However, some notable figures played important roles in shaping the region's history:
1. Togbe Agorkoli (16th century): A legendary Ewe king who united various Ewe clans and established the Anlo Kingdom.
2. Togbe Tsala (17th century): Another influential Ewe king who expanded the Anlo Kingdom and established trade relationships with European colonizers.
3. Togbe Awusu (18th century): A prominent Ewe king who resisted British colonial rule and fought for the region's independence.
In terms of modern administrative establishment, the Volta Region was created in 1960, during Ghana's post-independence era, by the government of Kwame Nkrumah. The region was carved out of the former Trans-Volta-Togoland region.
So, while there isn't a single "founder" of the Volta Region, these individuals, along with many others, contributed to the region's history and development.
