A pastor has sparked widespread reactions after claiming that widows should not enter intimate relationships or remarry without first undergoing certain traditional or spiritual rites.
Speaking during a sermon, the pastor alleged that widows remain spiritually connected to their late husbands and cautioned that any man who becomes intimate with a widow before the required rites are performed could face spiritual consequences.
According to him, some cultures observe specific rituals to symbolically and spiritually sever the bond between a widow and her deceased husband before she remarries. He further claimed that failing to perform such rites could allegedly affect a man's finances, health, or overall progress.
The pastor also cited biblical references, stating that widows are under God's protection while maintaining that they are not spiritually "single."
His remarks have since generated mixed reactions on social media, with some agreeing with his views based on cultural and religious beliefs, while others have questioned the scriptural basis of his claims and described them as controversial.
